When you power the 720 back on, it will remember your custom settings, but not return to a scene mode. When I hit the "shooting" button (the camera/shake/scene button) twice - it goes to the scene selections - the actual menu of scene modes. Not just the last scene I used. So it looks like...

Olympus Stylus scene modes

Hi everyone with an Olympus Stylus! I just purchased the older 720 model for our next SJU trip (didn't want to spend a lot of money and got a great deal on it). Does any one know if there's a way to pre-program certain scene modes so they can be accessed quicker - or is there a way to save a scene m...

Question about these digital underwater cameras: When they say the cameras can "withstand up to X minutes of continuous operation at an underwater depth up to X meters" - can they be in longer than said time if the camera is not on continuously? I'd like one for snorkeling, but I wouldn't ...

KathyE, We too are looking at a day trip to the Baths from St. John during our next visit. Here's what I've found out in my research: It's $50.pp, roundtrip from STJ? It's actually $60.00 per person plus a $5.00 departure tax collected on the return ferry. The ferry from St. John to Virgin Gorda onl...

We're also looking into a day trip to VG from STJ. We are thinking about taking the ferry over. Can anyone tell me how much a taxi costs from the ferry dock on VG to the Baths? And has anyone been to the Baths recently to say if the Park Service is charging to enter the Baths? (I had read a report w...

Not so much "funny" as scary! We stayed at Coral Rays a few years ago. After the villa rep showed us around and left, we decided to run back down to get some groceries at Love City Market. Since we were thrown off by the steepness of things, we didn't quite know how to park in the parking ...

Reef Bay Trail

The guided Reef Bay Trail hike is definitly worth it! The NPS offers a lot of interesting information on St. John flora, fauna, history, plus other neat facts. And the boat ride back to Cruz Bay allows you to see the Southern coast of the island. We had a great time when we went in 2005 and are doin...

Hi melmd, We stayed at Coral Rays in June of 2005. It was a beautiful villa with breathtaking views! The drive wasn't bad from Cruz Bay. Maybe 25-30 minutes. We did make sure we were back to the villa before it got too dark though. (Just didn't want to take any chances.) We spent time enjoying the p...

Has anyone stayed at Summer Wind Villa on STJ?

Just wondering if anyone has stayed at Summer Wind. I'd like to know how the road to the villa is (we had a white knuckle ride to our last villa) and how the view is. Would also like to know if all doors in the villa lock.

Thanks in advance to any help I may receive!
