You were right. That was St. Croix! Sounds like you had a great trip. How did you get around? Were you hitch hiking? <a href="http://daisypath.com/"><img src="http://dvcf.daisypath.com/iTnPm5.png" width="400" height="80" border="0" alt="Daisypat...

Concordia, actually. Spending 4 weeks working there and then spending a couple of weeks celebrating my 40th birthday with friends. Can't wait! :D <a href="http://daisypath.com/"><img src="http://dvcf.daisypath.com/iTnPm5.png" width="400" height="80" border=&qu...

Most of the cab drivers will automatically take you to Red Hook. One time we asked to go to the downtown ferry (I'd rather be on a boat than in STT traffic) but he ignored us and we wound up in Red Hook anyway. And there's no way you want to walk from the airport to the CA ferry, especially with lug...

Tortola's Carnival is in August. We went to the parade one year and it was a blast! As I recall, most of the restaurants on STJ were open in August. September and October are the months when most places close up. <a href="http://daisypath.com/"><img src="http://dvcf.daisypath.co...

Did Sheila's Pot find a new home?

Does anyone know if Sheila found a new spot to set up her "pot?" Just curious. I'm a big Sheila fan! <a href="http://daisypath.com/"><img src="http://dvcf.daisypath.com/iTnPm5.png" width="400" height="80" border="0" alt="Daisypath Vaca...

PS. I'm pretty sure Big Ben's is out of business now. A friend of mine that lives out by Concordia said they closed and the building was for sale. <a href="http://daisypath.com/"><img src="http://dvcf.daisypath.com/iTnPm5.png" width="400" height="80" border=&q...

I third the Ponzu!!! And it was on Friday nights when I was there in the fall. The appetizer portion is big enough and a lot cheaper. Also, try Kiddle Bay for snorkeling. <a href="http://daisypath.com/"><img src="http://dvcf.daisypath.com/iTnPm5.png" width="400" height=...

I was there for a month this past September as a volunteer worker. Some tents have the chest coolers that are pictured. Others are updated with mini fridges like you would have in a college dorm room. Those have a small freezer section and they run on DC power. The chest refrigerators are solar powe...

Packed some dryer sheets with food one year and my Pop Tarts tasted like Bounce. Just an FYI... I shipped two boxes last year with the USPS flat rate boxes and had no problems at all. They took less than a week. <a href="http://daisypath.com/"><img src="http://dvcf.daisypath.co...

Found this on another site. It's from Tortola. It was posted in 2007, but someone recently asked it it was still correct and the answer was "yes." The prices have probably gone up, though. IMO, it would be cool to ferry over to VG on Thursday, spend the night and catch the ferry to Anagada...

I've been in August and it wasn't bad at all. Water was terrific and that's where you'll be most of the time anyway, right? Had a great time going to Tortola for their carnival. I don't recall the bugs being bad at all. I'd want accommodations with air conditioning at least in the bedrooms, though. ...

The Sandcastle on Jost is my hands-down favorite. Prices are very reasonable (in the $200-something a night range). They only have 6 units and it's right on the beach. No pool. Soggy Dollar Bar is part of it. The food is fantastic and you get the beach all to yourself in the morning and evening. Dur...
