Good review, it's nice to see things through fresh eyes. I'm curious what kind of bug spray you were using? The new Picaridin-based sprays seem to be working pretty well. I'm allergic to DEET... Cheers, RickG WE used Deet, I forget what percentage but the highest you can buy. It didn't work at all ...

just back yesterday from STJ-trip report
We just came back from a wonderful trip to STJ. We stayed at the Westin and rented a studio up on the hill with a beautiful view. We were happy there, the only complaint was that right in front of our door was a turnaround point for the shuttle which went back and forth every 15 minutes or so and we...

We are leaving in 4 days and I still can only get the cruise ship schedule until the end of January. Does anyone have any website that would give me the info? Thanks!

Is Joes Barbecue better for lunch or dinner?
Can you get the same ribs for both lunch and dinner? We would rather go for lunch but didn't want to miss the good ribs. Thanks!

What we do is drop our bags at the ferry dock and leave them with the porters. A $1 tip per bag makes them happy to see us. When you buy that Charlotte Amalie ferry ticket, you also get a ticket for each bag. The bags will right there by the gate waiting for you. A tip that Bill in VA gave us for o...

later flight out, is there a place we can store our luggage?
We have a later flight out our last day and would like to leave St. John early and go to St thomas and site see for the day. Does anyone have any idea about where we can keep our luggage? What is the distance between the airport and the shopping/beach? Is it possible to check in at the airport/drop ...

should we buy snorkel gear before we leave? or Rent?
We are staying at the Westin but want to do a little snorkeling each day around the island. Does anyone know the rental fees or should we buy them at home? (we hate how much weight and space it will take though). Can you rent for the week and how can I find out how much it will cost? thanks!

We spent 2 weeks on Tortola in May and frankly that was a verrry long 2 weeks for me. I'm curious what you think you're going to do there. Are you going for shopping? You'll find better shopping on St. John. The beaches on STJ are nicer too. I don't mean to bash the BVI but if you're not going to e...

suggestions for this odd daytrip
We are different from everone else in that we want to go to Tortola or Virgin Gorda but do not want snorkel or drink, just be on or own to site see (we are staying on St. JOhn). We looked into taking the ferry and then renting a car but Tortola from St. John is far and my husband gets sick on a rock...
