Re: Carnival question
Regarding the parade, be aware it never starts on time. Nowhere near on time. The schedule says 11:00am, plan for closer to 1:00. Parking is always a big challenge. You can try to park in the gravel lot near the tennis courts and walk into town. Festival village is a great time each night. The food ...

Sorry for your husbands illness. Can you tell us where Kachi Ra is located? It doesn't specifically say on their website.

Re: Group turned to 4 couples! VILLA HELP PLEASE!
I've done two land-based trips to the BVI with 3 couples. It works out well as long as Rick's rules are followed. Having 2 jeeps is a must, and everyone needs to be laid back and have a roll-with-it attitude. If anyone in the group is high strung and needs to have every minute planned out, you're do...

Re: Group turned to 4 couples! VILLA HELP PLEASE!
And even if you end up with just 3 couples, get two Jeeps instead of one larger SUV that'd seat 6. Trust me, you'll want the flexibility of being able to split up. One person gets a headache and wants to leave the beach, it doesn't mean everyone has to go, or that someone spends half the day playing...

Re: Morgan Point villa - input requested
Hi John, thanks so much for the info. I know the new pool is in a slightly different location than the former one, but if the temps were good before, they should be good in the new pool as well.
We really appreciate the reply. I think we're going to pull the trigger for Morgan Point in July 2016.

Morgan Point villa - input requested
My wife and I are considering Morgan Point villa for our next St John trip. I've read most of the posts and reviews here on Morgan Point and have a pretty good feel for the property from these, and the villa's webpage including video. A couple questions remain: - how private is the pool area? Does t...

...... However, we have also entertained the idea of a move or partial move to PR because of the available infrustructure for business. I'd suggest you do some research on the current economic climate in Puerto Rico, if you haven't already. The economy is in a major crisis, there's a huge amount of...

Re: Thinking of visting Virgin Gorda
There is no car ferry. Since the BVI and USVI are actually two separate countries, I can't imagine that any rental company would allow you to take their car across, even if there was a car ferry.

Re: Thinking of visting Virgin Gorda
Hi JJShaw, You are correct in that the ferry to West End leaves from the National Park dock. You'll get into West End and have to clear in through customs and immigration, which shouldn't take too long, unless you arrive at the same time as one of the large ferries inbound from St Thomas. Also, be a...

Re: P & P by the Sea (Moorehead Point, past Gallows Point)
I doubt that she has much of a wine selection, but she always has cold beer and makes a great rum punch. It's a VERY casual setting, but the food is some of the best local cuisine I've had anywhere in the USVI or BVI.

Re: P & P by the Sea (Moorehead Point, past Gallows Point)
We love P&P By the Sea. The restaurant is run by Patricia Moorhead, who is the sweetest lady you'll ever meet. The "restaurant" is small utility building housing the kitchen, with a small deck on the perimeter There are lots of mismatched lawn furniture tables and chairs on the lawn su...

Re: Help, she hates the water!!
I have to agree with Mahojim. Best case is that you'll be stressed out over dropping her off wherever she wants to go, then worry about picking her up, timeframes, etc each day. Worst case is likely worse that what he described. I've got plenty of friends that I LOVE hanging out with at home, but th...

Re: Happy hour deals and times of day
The best happy hour deal in Cruz Bay is at Joe's Rum Hut. $3 "You Call It" from 4-6pm. Any drink you want is just $3. Bushwhackers, Painkillers, etc.

Re: Should I cheat on STJ?
Hi Bigcheeze, I had been visiting Tortola since 1996, and have stayed in many different properties. Here's some feedback on the places you posted: Seven Peaks is a nice villa, but the road literally runs just above the roofline on the hillside. That is the main road leading in/out of Cane Garden Bay...

Re: St. John 1st week in August? (hurricane)
We typically go to St John in late June or early July. Last summer we couldn't make those dates work, so we went the second week of August. The weather was no different than any of our previous June/July visits from 2010 - 2013. While statistically there is a better chance of a tropical system, it d...
