Here's one I've posted before, but it definitely qualifies as odd -- a few years ago (July 2006 I think) we encountered two women dressed to the nines wandering Cruz Bay looking for some night life. Both were very loud and very drunk, they proceeded to tell their story to everyone within earshot - t...

I wear capris with my hiking sneakers and socks on the way down (swap the sneakers for flip-flops while waiting for the bags in STT); same in reverse on the way back. Even in the snowy weather, a little bit of bare leg is fine as long as your feet are warm. :)

Total casual is just fine! There are only a couple of places that require more than casual (Caneel's Turtle Bay restaurant requests a collared shirt and long pants/khakis for men, Zozo's and some of the others would be fine with nice shorts), but for the most part total causal is what it's all about.

Fabulous pictures! I haven't snorkeled the mangroves in many years, but your pics have reminded me that I have to make it a priority next trip - which is this coming April! Thanks!

We tried this a few years ago - it was pretty cool; you don't have to go very deep or far from shore. We followed the recommendation of FF&4WD - the East End's Princess Bay. As I recall, entry was along the roadside and there was enough room to pull over and park there.
