Isn't it wonderful that something that brings us so much joy and peace is also so beautiful. Thanks for sharing this. Happy New Year to all!

Re: New music for ipod

Some great suggestions! I also love Gregory Isaacs and Steel Pulse when I'm on St. John (and when I'm only wishing I were on The Rock)!

Re: Hermit Crab Migration... Nanny Point

Great video...great choice of background music as well. Just fascinating and the Historical Society piece really augmented the experience. Gotta love Mother Nature!

Re: St John Gym

You might check Storm Carib (St. John) from August 1st: http://stormcarib.com/reports/current/stjohn.shtml, in which the contributor says: "...small gym located at the Gifft Hill School upper campus and is open to the public for a small membership fee...of which 100% goes back to the school for...

Serendip Condos

Have stayed at Serendip as well. Loved it! My condo had fabulous view - veranda was great and the rest of the condo was fine. Clean, well-equipped... everything I needed for what little time I spend indoors while on St. John! Definitely need 4-wheel drive - Jacob's Ladder and the turn-off street are...

Blake

Cheryl, you are definitely racking up the karma points! Blake is absolutely wonderful and I was amazed watching Romeo and Patience's meh reactions. The kindnesses we offer to animals is repaid many times over in the gifts they offer us.

Thank you!

Carrying Medications

I also use the 7-day type pill box whenever I travel anywhere (to St. John/outside of US, etc.) and have never had a problem or even a question as to what's in there and, as kind of a vitamin nut, there's lots in there

Oddest Thing

Chillin' at JJ's with my daughter when, at the next table, an older woman with a cast on her leg begins to talk (in French) to one of the tree sculptures, then to yell at it because it's not responding, then to hitting it with her fists. My daughter quickly spotted someone she just had to speak to w...

Augie's got it right. I regularly send "care" packages to my daughter via Connections. Always use the flat rate boxes which are great and can hold much more than you'd think. I've never had a package arrive in less than one week so two weeks is probably your best bet. Definitely follow the...

Ouch...that's terrible! I regularly send "care" packages to my daughter on St. John via USPS Flat Rate and it takes a minimum of 7 days but (so far) not more than 10. I just laugh when the USPS worker stamping the boxes tells me they should arrive in 3 days. From tracking the packages, the...
