I don't think that Palmtrees is being rude or abusive. I think he or she is venturing a different opinion than the original poster. I don't have anything to offer to this (interesting) thread because I don't usually fly US Air or go to PHL. I do believe that all of us here on this great board have t...

Salt Pond Bay is usually calm and clear with a nice shallow reef on the left (east). Hawksnest and Trunk are both easy snorkles as well, but can get rough in the winter or following an east-coast storm. Trunk has lifeguards between 10 and 4. Despite the disdain of some of those who like quieter beac...

I wrap my Tevas up in my neat sheet and put them all in my fanny pack with my lens defogger. Am I forgetting anything?

Johnson's Reef is a very good snorkel. A lot of the Cruz Bay charter operators go there for a 2-hour snorkel, or you can do it from a dinghy. Just anchor along side the reef - not on the reef. Thank you!

Lots of folks in the states forget about dial-up access, but here it is still a way of life. You can buy pre-paid dialup access through maglobe (www.maglobe.com) with a good pop in STT, for those folks whose lodging doesn't have high speed. It's good enough for web based email.

There are no flights to St. John! Maybe you're seeing St. John's (Antigua)?

You can rent a one-room shed in Coral Bay for $600 per month. You can make $15 per hour doing general labor, make $50 extra per night bussing or waiting. You need wheels and food, and what else? Therein lies the rub. If the math works out, come on down!

It's a real policewoman. And unless your attorney is licensed in the VI, he can't help you. These folks really did the best thing by paying up and jumping on the ferry. The police enforce parking laws rigorously in Cruz Bay. I doubt very much that they would have taken tourists off to jail, but they...

Just my opinion, but I think the tickers are a little tacky, and detract from the board. They make it more difficult to follow. That being said, my ticker is always set to "0".

The snorkeling is very good at the North Shore cays (Congo, Mingo, Lovengo) and at Carvel rock. However, it's also good right off the North Shore beaches: Waterlemon Cay, Cinnamon Cay, Trunk Cay, Hawksnest reefs. These off-shore locations are really better for scuba than for snorkeling. I always see...

If you take the 7:00 boat, you will make a 9:40 flight with time to spare. Courtesy will let you drop the keys in their key slot, no problem. Cruz Bay Watersports does a great BVI trip with continental breakfast, full lunch and open bar for arond $120 pp. That includes Virgin Gorda and Norman Island...
