Yes, they run a regular schedule on Thanksgiving, but I think they may skip the 6AM boat.

There is indeed such a report going around, that a young punk was arrested last night in Pastory. IF this proves to be true (as the Daily News is reporting), keep your eyes on the news. In other such cases the perpetrators have fled the island and / or had a ridiculously low bail amount set by Judge...

Sadly, Captain Vic is correct. I too love the island but I also feel that getting some justice and security may require some sacrifice by way of tourist dollars. Thanks to everybody who has responded. This story and the underlying story of apathy and ineptitude in the VI is getting a lot of attentio...

Readers depend on a travel forum for advice and options. I imagine that people assume (bad word, I know) that they are getting non-partisan advice that covers the spectrum honestly and openly. How reliable can a travel forum's rating of a property be, for example, or a restaurant review, for another...

STJ is great but Censorship is not

Long time reader and contributor here, who just became aware of the censorship problem on that "other" (Trip Advisor) STJ travel board. This pertains to the murder of Jamie Cockayne - a 21 year-old tourist - in June. He was killed under the Tamarind tree on the sidewalk outside of the DPW ...

Wrong Bert, RickG! Although Solomon is a nice beach, it's not my favorite!

After living here for many years, Trunk is still my (second) favorite beach. The beach is beautiful, shade is plentiful, the snorkeling is usually very good, the food (try the honey dipped chicken) is convenient and great, and the tourist watching is at it's best. It's under-rated by the "puris...

We know what you know. I didn't know the victim but it seems like he was a nice kid. Nobody deserves this, but we just have to let it go and pray that the murderer is brought to justice. This, too, shall pass.

Fireworks at dark (around 9:00) in town. You can watch them from the waterfront, from the Lumberyard, or another great spot is Asolare Hill.

You need to have documentation to prove that you have applied for a passport, to get back to America. TSA will take your bags after you have already passed through Customs, either way. So if you have not applied for a passport yet, all you have to do is go down to your local courthouse and apply. Th...

Are you all running a firewall? Set your pop-up blocking to medium. Disable mobile code control. Log back on. See if that makes a difference.

I don't know these villas, but the only waste treatment facility on the island is across from Starfish market, between Marketplace and the pond. About the only place I'm aware of with 7 BR is Great Expectations in Chocolate Hole, maybe 10 minutes out from town. (www.greatexpectationsusvi.com) peace....
