King Hill Road is drive-able up to Josephine's Coral Bay Garden Center. (Get some fresh vegs while you're there!) Then it becomes more or less impassable by car. My son used to make it alright in his 4WD Land Rover, but I would not recommend trying to get all the way back to Centerline that way! pea...

What we have here is a failure to communicate. A follow-up to Ron, instead of a blast to the whole forum, would have been more appropriate - and would probably have elicited a better resolution! It's always okay to admit you made a mistake. The ideal soultion would be to end up booking that night, a...

It's not open yet, but may be open by the time you come in the winter. Mongoose Junction has a website, if you want to check back, at www.mongoosejunctionstjohn.com.

Re: Sunnyledge

Liamsaunt - don't worry about the smoke smell. Everything is open to the winds - the odors don't linger like in the states where the inside air is usually recycled; also there are no curtains or drapes to retain the odor as in hotel rooms. If in doubt you can always call Terry or email her. I know t...

It's probably not the same kids. But kids - in the general sense (they are some old kids!)- have been hanging out on the bleachers facing the ballfield on that corner for a long time. Some of the homeless people also sleep there. It's just up the street from the police station and right next to the ...

Orchids are all over the islands, but they're inconspicuous. They can grow in the crooks and branches of the trees. Many times you will see a small "clump" of plants on the road - these are orchids that have fallen from the trees. Stop at the Coral Bay Garden Center and Josephine will show...

Sounds like you were at Lovango Cay (closest to Caneel)- it has a small tower. The snorkeling / diving at Mingo and Congo are also very good, and diving between those two is great with pristine reefs and large critters.

Yeah, that's what happened to me too. Don't know why I was "unlogged in." :? If you delete your cookies (sounds kinky) it will dis-allow your automatic login. Among the things that might do that (besides deliberately deleting your cookies) is running a spyware or adware sweeper. Have a gr...

I have never had a problem with thefts from the beaches. A good rule of thumb is to take only whose valuables to the beach that you absolutley need - car keys, driver's license, a little cash. Minimize the risk.

Booties

I go to the beach almost every day. I always have mask, fins, snorkel and booties with me. There are some beaches for which booties are absolutely necessary to get in the water (over the rocks and sea urchins) and some that not (pure sand). I use open-heeled dive fins so booties are always a must wi...

Well I guess we have to keep up with technology. Even though it takes some getting used to, and roping & taming this damn aviator was no easy task.

I miss the old forum already - but life is change!
