Re: Underwater camera ~ Experience with the GoPro Hero 3
We are leaving tomorrow and my husband will be using his new GoPro Hero 3 silver while snorkeling. We will post our review of the camera when we return. We are avid snorkelers so we should be giving it a good trial!

Re: Give yourself plenty of time at the airport when departi
We are going to have carry on only and printed boarding passes before we get to the airport in 4 weeks. We are traveling on Saturday. Will this eliminate some of the wait or is it all at security/customs? And where are the customs forms located at the airport so we can pick them up when we arrive. I...

Re: Snorkeling for Beginners in St John?
I second Maho as a great choice. Our kids loved it there. Have they tried out their masks, fins and snorkels in a pool? I think it helps build confidence especially if they are not used to the ocean.

Re: Carry-On/Baggage ?
We too have used Connections more than once and it is super convenient for the ferry. We usually save our souvenir shopping for that last day and then have a nice lunch in Mongoose Junction (the last three trips we've stayed on the Coral Bay side of the island exclusively).

I have not heard of the fins you mentioned but I found these for my 13 4E son. He used them in Belieze and they didn't hurt for a change!

Thank you for all your help! I decided on Adeste which is on Seagrape Hill. The owner gave us a good deal so I came in right on budget but we got 3 air conditioned bedrooms instead of 2 so our adult kids don't have to share a room. It isn't the East End but it is close and it is walking distance to ...

Thank you all for your help! I can't believe how many of you are willing to help others. I really think I have a some good choices now in case one of them is not available when we are ready to pay the deposit. I am still looking for somewhere in the East End but haven't found the right number of bed...

Coral Bay Villa Help
We just booked our February 2013 air with Delta miles and are starting the search for relatively inexpensive (less than $3,000) villas in the Coral Bay area preferably the East End. We are traveling with two of our adult children who don't mind sharing a bedroom but not a bed so a 3 bedroom is ideal...

In order to keep them out of the villa you need to leave all of your sandy stuff you took to the beach outside! I shake out all towels and take them straight to the washing machine if you have one. The last time we stayed at Concordia I used camping towels so I could wash them in the sink and hang t...

We ate there twice while staying at Concordia in February (the location can't be beat!). It has a very laid back vibe with friendly service and good food. They have Live Music one night a week-I think it was Thursday. They have a very nice salad bar-I think they use Josephine's greens and I particul...

If she is going to take swim lessons in a pool make sure she understands that floating in salt water is 100% easier than fresh water. I grew up swimming in the ocean and the first time I tried to swim in a pool at about age 10 I sank right to the bottom. I still 45 years later really hate swimming i...

Just flew Delta to STT Feb 13-21 and no trouble with two carry-ons a wheeled one and a 12-can polar cooler. The weekend before we flew American to Albuquerque and the gate attendents were extremely rude about carry-ons-practically screaming at everyone before boarding. The flights on Delta were grea...

I second the Vitara for parking-it is so easy. We also like it for the added security it gives us in driving-it seems like you have more room on the road when you meet another car on a narrow spot. We never had trouble on wet roads except once when we had forgotten to switch into 4-wheel drive when ...

Coolibar
I love my rashguard from Coolibar.com. It fits well without being too tight. They call it a swim shirt and it is deliberately looser. My daughter (30) wanted a little sportier look and just got one from Landsend.com and really likes it. She found the ones in the sporting goods stores were too tight ...

Snorkel Arm in Arm
My husband and I often will snorkel arm in arm which keeps me warm and may help work on the fear. We started it when our kids were small and it has continued through 33 years of marriage. Sharon
