Re: Which and Why ?

We own the first week of November at Sunset Ridge and the lack of a/c was never an issue with the great breezes high on top of the ridge. In fact, since its been installed, we have never turned it on. Not sure if October is that much warmer. SRV is a great place to relax. Hope this helps. :)

Re: JFK advice

We're also in the Lehigh Valley and generally fly out of EWR - last year we took advantage of the lower fares out of JFK -we used Park Plus long term parking - under $10/day. The ride's not too bad - go through Staten Island and Brooklyn -leave at 4am for an 8am flight

Another SRV owner here and BillVT has given an excellent description and sound advice. With reference to SRV, we purchased five years ago sight unseen (had never even been to STJ) and have not regretted the decision once. It is unique and, while not for everyone, I think its more in keeping with the...

As pet owners we always know the day might come when we need to make that decision - my heart feels your loss. When I had to put my beloved cat to sleep, a week later I saw a rainbow and I was reminded of the story of the Rainbow Bridge - I honestly think it was her way of letting me know she was ok...

Having just returned from Bermuda ourselves, your observations are spot on. We love both St. John and Bermuda, travelling to each once a year for a week at a time. Each is perfect for its own reasons. Bermuda is pure relaxation and gets us primed for summer here at home. St. John in late fall fortif...

No, I was trying to bring it home from San Juan (on a stopover from STJ/STT)and couldn't. Since we are skipping the San Juan layover this trip, I should be able to get it from STT to home :)

Thanks for the info. I don't know what happened last year - the personnel at Dufry in San Juan would not explain anything - just kept saying "no" to bringing anything other than rum home. I am bringing a soft-sided cooler down with frozen food and plan on putting the liquor in on the retur...

Bringing liquor home

I'm confused about what you can bring back from the USVI - last year we arrived in San Juan in route to STJ - we bought gin and vodka and had no problem bringing it to STJ. On the way home, again we changed planes in San Juan, but we were told we could only bring back rum made in Puerto Rico. Anothe...

Packing Food

New to this site, but wanted to throw in my 2 cents - leaving for STJ on Saturday - this is our 2nd trip - last year there were 6 of us and I packed a soft side cooler on wheels with 6 each of steaks, salmon, hot dogs, hamburgers, shrimp, deli meats and cheese, butter, and a rack of lamb. Everything...
