Thanks B&J. A nice Day Sail has always been integral for us and Patouche has been our choice over the years. I think that each of the Day Sail operators do a great job and Aristocat has a good rep. Funny, I've been to the Indians 3 times and its always been too choppy to snorkle. Maybe this year...

While there is no doubt that the best method is to go to a shop and be fitted, the expense factor can come into play. I bought two Deep Blue two-window masks and Ultra-Dry Snorkels along with AquaLung Sport short travel fins. I picked this up in a package from Snorkle-Mart @ $53.00 I snorkeled for h...

Assuming you take the 8:30 to West End, you'll have something around a 8 hour stay on Tortola if you go on Fri or Sun when the return ferry departs WE around 5:15-5:30. I suggest renting a car from Jerry's. He'll meet you at the ferry terminal and it will run $55 all in. The route I'm suggesting kee...

I would agree with Jill on this one. A day on White Bay will be a highlight.

Tortola is great but you'd spend time getting around that you wouldn't need to do on JVD. Tortola would best be saved for an actual stay of several days.

B&J - Its a great island with wonderful folks. Absolutely my favorite place and I'm always ready to go back. GD - Ya got that right!! I'm a planner when it comes to vacations, especially to de ilons. It gets me through the wait. I really have to watch myself to avoid overplanning this visit. I w...

Well, here we are a year later and recovery brings another ticker.

Same plan, just a year later. Ten days with the kids at Little Apple Bay, Tortola.

The Jolly Roger has cheap rooms that could work well for 1 night and its only a wee bit down the road from the Ferry Terminal. Completely walkable. Real good food there, too. Its very basic but there's nothing more convenient/cheap for 1 night. $89Double w/bath or $67Double w/shared bath It would ma...

Hi JJShaw - I think you were looking at the Red Hook schedule which is the 5:00 Native Son to RT via WE. The ferry schedule I have shows CA-WE at 4:00 and 4:30 with Smith's and Native Son alternating these times daily. You should be able to make the 4:30 since the ferry terminal is only about a 10 m...

Diane

Let me apologize for not saying so earlier but I hope that your husband responds well and that your battle is short and successful.

God bless you both!

Virgin Gorda has everything you mentioned plus you're already familiar with the travel patterns...just add one more ferry. Nice resorts if you like or a selection of good villas.

That's the first review I've actually read on the Seacrest. Doesn't sound too coomfortable for June, does it.

I didn't think about Sandcastle because they're always booked up but you may get lucky and find an open cabin that's inbetween bookings. Definately worth a call.

Good call Bandit!

Come on Pip...at least they were nice enough to go to your little island and pick up some spices for ya. I seem to recall watching a video of you performing your "I Rub The Spices on My Body Dance" complete with a coconut shell bra at StJ Spice a while back. Ruth's must be at Temple-level ...

Hi JJ Actually, on Wednesday there is no ferry to JVD from either St Thomas or St John. On Wed, the only option for getting to JVD is via Tortola. Unless your first day is the only one that works for your itinerary, I wouldn't go with this route since it blows so much on travel time. The JVD-STJ fer...

I don't know if budget is a heavy concern but Columbus Sunset Apartments are right in CGB and a short stroll to the beach and VERY reasonable. It is highly regarded and has many, many repeat visitors. Since you're looking at 2 - 3 weeks on Tortola, I assume you want to hold down costs. 2BR @ $130/nt...
