It seems my friend has been reading/hearing that it was a cement truck, but it was a water truck. His last comment: "We didn't stay around for a cement truck to come down the hill."

When asked if the passengers had jumped out of the truck, he said:

"Not sure when they jumped but they were all by the truck when it hit the road below. Cab was crushed and little girl had only scratches. Truck blocked the road for hours. Pretty sure they [rode] it through the house."

My husband and I and another couple (we travel together every winter, have done STJ twice) visited Anguilla in January 2010, renting a villa on the East End above Shoal Bay Beach. you may want to double check with the airline that you don't have to gather your bags and re-check in miami--just to be on the safe side....
