Fungi's is on there - the general location - for some reason it does not show up that well. If you don't want to walk down (and then back up on a full stomach) from Point Pleasant, you can get to it from Pineapple Beach - there's a bridge that goes over to it from the shuttered Grand Beach property...

Once you clear away all the hype in the media (they just love a juicy story like this!) it comes down to the fact that the incident count in this country is not complete due to the time it takes to get the samples from suspected cases tested. Everyone seems to have different numbers. It would appear...

The fact which people keep missing is that there has been no flu vaccine given for this one. In a normal flu outbreak, Large portions of the population are vaccinated, especially all health care workers. This fact alone keeps the flu from spreading as fast as it might. With no one in the population ...

I never had a flu shot, and I never had the flu. I've known people who had the shot and got the flu. I know many people who have never had a flu shot, and that is fine. If you aren't one of the people at high risk, there is no concern, you will probably not have anything more than a rough week with...

My major fear with this Swine Flu "Epidemic" is that with the regular strains that come around every year, there are flu shots that vulnerable people can get to protect them. As of now, we have no flu shot for this strain. In people of the AARP age, it can take up to a month for the shot t...

Loria, I'm thinking wrangle up all those chickens and adopt them out to the kids on the beach for a day. For a small price, of course! Think their parents would indulge this small entreprenurship??? :) Okay, how about wrangling up all those chickens, but instead of playing with them or eating them ...

I've been known to wear socks with my Teva's if there is snow on the ground  . I am a dork :) . When we went in November, I wore a pair of heavy Sweat sox with my Keens sandals. It looked dorky, but I was comfy when we went thru security and I had to take my Keens off. The sox got really dirt...

I have to agree about the Tourist Trap. We stopped there after a Salt Pond day, and I have to admit I was surprised how great it was. I had read the write-up in the VI paper about it, and our grandson was dying to see the bathroom (AKA the C**P Shack!), being an 11 year old boy. We never expected it...

CJROYER, it looks like your villa was "Andante by the Sea". Is it? We stayed there over Thanksgiving week, and the sunsets from the hottub were awsome. My grandson took some sunset shots from there our last night. The views are great, aren't they?

We like to spend our first night in St. Thomas so as not to "burn" a villa rental day on a travel day. this way we have the whole first day on St. John and arrive rested and happy. We used the Point Pleasant Resort our most recent trip, in November. It was fantastic, and we got a great rat...

The two I saw were about an inch to and inch and a half long. I still wonder... did I really see them. I had a lot of Bushwackers the night before.

There has been talk locally that people as far out as the Baltimore suburbs are renting out their homes or a room to people coming in for the Inauguration. There are anticipated to be major problems with people riding the subway from the stations closer in to The Hill not being able to board the tra...

Sea Horses

I was wondering if anyone had ever seen Sea Horses when snorkeling at any of the St. John Beaches. When we were there in November, I could swear I saw a pair in the water near the rocky outcropping to the right at Little Lameshur. My daughter-in-law searched valiantly to find some, to no avail. Did ...
