Just bought rash guards for all of us... the Kore/Dry loose fitting ones for us old folks; fitted rash guard for the younger dude. They claim an SPF of +150. I have tried wearing a T-shirt when snorkeling, but it makes me get cold twice as fast... the wind blowing over that wet cotton on my back jus...

Did you just delete cookies or temporary internet files? Every time I do that I have to reset my "automatic" logon.... otherwise the "new" posts don't show up with colors.

Being so relaxed that I can be completely and totally entertained for hours watching a bunch of bananaquits devour a coconut shell full of sugar. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh. Bliss.

I second the snorkel-mart vote. We also bought prescription masks from them, probably 6 years ago, and they're holding up great. Not expensive, either. Note, though, that hubby is a&%$-retentive about soaking and rinsing them thoroughly in fresh water every time we come back from the beach. Mayb...

Berlingirl,
Your reference to the Puerto Rican "navy" invasion nails it. I've been trying to think of a way to describe it. Thanks.

I can't believe you're already packed. Way more organized than I am.

My $0.02:
Remember to pack your phone charger(s). Also, before you leave home, program the phone numbers of your airline, your car rental company, and your villa management company into your phone.

The first time we went to STJ was in April, and it was fabulous. Weather was perfect, and not crowded. Boy, are you lucky being able to go for 15 days... I'm so jealous. We also were on island one year in March during Easter break, and that was more crowded than usual. Holy week this year will be Ap...

The search engines (travelocity, etc.) DO come up with some pretty amazing fares. I have "fare watch" on several. But......... every time they come up with a great fare, when I check the details, they are 2 or 3 stops, on more than 1 airline, and take 15 - 20 hours to get there. (MSP to ST...

Thanks, BillVT for those awesome pictures. The more I read about the project, the more interesting it becomes. I'll have to do more digging.

Anyone have any information on Reggae week?

I'm just working on my packing list for next month. Here's what I've got so far: Clothes: half of what I think I need. Nothing fancy. One long-sleeved light shirt for those days with too much sun, or a cool evening. At least 2 swimsuits (hate putting on a wet one). Shoes: one pair of flip flops and ...

Reggae and Tektite

On the St. John Source community calendar, they show "Reggae Week" starting on Jan 29, but no further details. I've checked some other sites, but nothing there either. Does anyone know what Reggae week entails? We arrive on the 29th, so I'm excited to find out what's happening. Also, I jus...

Wishing you all the best in your adoption process. As for travel... we're not big fans of "commercial" Florida.... but based on an article in Budget Travel (which, by the way, is a great resource: www.budgettravel.com), we went to Flagler Beach, Florida. It's on the Atlantic side, and is a...
