LuLu - we stayed at Gallows Point (in late April) and rented a car for just 2 days. We used the car to go to Coral Bay/Salt Pond on day and then to Annaberg/Waterlemon the other day. We cabbed it to/from Trunk and we cabbed it back from Caneel after we walked to Soloman/Honeymoon Beach. We walked to...

We are going in March with Celebrity on their Xpedition ship. I can give you details when we get back, if you are interested. But from what I've read it's a trip of a lifetime (but that's what I said about our trip to Antarctica). In doing my research I found several operations that I would recommen...

Snorkeling in GC

We went last March, had the best time. There are definitely some excellent snorkeling spots. Cemetary Beach was one, we liked Smith's Cove and the barrier reef near Sting Ray City (that was one of our stops on our SRC trip, along with Coral Gardens) and the snorkleing was pretty good right off shore...

FF - Size wise I'd say its about 30 miles long +/- and 4 miles wide +/-. Shouldn't take more than an hour to go from one end to the other. Very flat, not hilly like STJ, not as lush either, but we enjoyed it. We left Dulles at 6:00 in the morning and were on island by 2:00 in the afternoon give or t...

FF - I've read good things about the Reef Resort - we drove past it a couple of times. Its on the opposite end of the island from Seven Mile Beach & Georgetown, but it is closer to the Botanical Gardens (which was a fun thing to do) and it's nearer to Rum Point, which I think your little ones wo...

Suzi - The hubby and I jsut went to Grand Cayman in March. We absolutely loved it. We stayed at the Turtle Nest Inn (not sure when you are going, but they are usually booked months in advance), and I may not suggest staying there if you like that typical white sand beach - they have a rocky beach, b...

Betty - Sorry, I'm not going to be much help there. We usually stay with family. You might want to try Expedia - search for a hotel near the golf course. Or even the yellow pages on-line. I've used that one before when I've needed to find a hotel near a specific address.

Hi Betty - Not curretnly in Lousiville, but I grew up there, well up until I was 6, but have visited MANY times since leaving. The whole family is from there, my mom's parents and siblings as well as my dad's parents. Why do you ask? And Ksea - we used to live in Leesburg, before we moved to Ashburn.

Here's one more suggestion - from personal experience...the Dulles Hyatt. We stayed there the night before we flew out for our honeymoon. We could leave the car (had to sign a waiver though) and the shuttle dropped us at the airport and picked us up. It may cost more than a Hampton Inn, but it is th...
