Ellison
I just wanted to give an update. I appreciate the positive comments about Ellison on Shellee's thread. We did suffer some substantial damage. Although it appeared horrific at first we are finding a good portion of it cosmetic. At this point we don't know exactly when it will be back in order but we ...

Just terrible. We have been talking about this possibility for while- even in ST John. When seemingly smaller crimes (robberies, drugs) go relatively unchecked (I think most would agree that the policing leaves much to be desired), they escalate and when guns are involved these things happen unfortu...

We got married on island and I would not have been comfortable using anyone that was NOT on island. I'm sure there are some ways to cut corners but it just didn't seem worth it. We used Stacy at Ceremonies St. John and she was great. She knows how to get things done. We did have the advantage of kno...

I think Wet Woody - (Bar Tender) has a permit for 6 guests but I would check with them. There were 6 of us so it wasn't a factor but the boat can hold a lot more people. I can't remember what the base charge was before tips and gas but it seemed to be just a bit higher than Ocean Runner (which we li...

We took our 4 year old, our almost 2 year old last summer with a sitter, her friend annd another 14 yr old friend who was with the other family that went with us. We had all the help you could get and I will not take them again until the youngest is at least 4! Just not worth it, the 4 yr old was OK...

I'm not sure if any of those places have the NFL Package which you might need if it isn't a national game. The Giants may help your cause as far as that goes. I think Captains Cabin would be the best bet, I think they do have some sort of plan but I would check early in the week and ask places if th...

Hi Betty, I think the gates started a couple of months ago. These types of robberies are most likely workers or housekeepers that know a house is empty I would think. Very frustrating publicity as you see in my rant above but not really a tourist issue. The gates are automatic with each house having...

Although this is not common in STJ and I think all of this is true, the late night thing, the no bling policy, the awareness. But the officials and police need to be more proactive as I have ranted before. As I said many times, you have a few thousand people on an island, it's just not that difficul...

I drink a lot more than usual in St John (and will when I got to the BVI's in 2 weeks)!!!! If you want to start drinking at 8Am or too mu...
