After reading this thread, I had to jump in. For OVERRATED I would have to say "Pusser's Rum". When my husband and I went to Pusser's Cay on the New Horizons II day sail, 4 years ago, we tried thier painkillers. I am NOT a fan of Pusser's Rum and much prefer the Cruzan Rum. For UNDERRATED ...

I also find it funny how I have lived in NJ my entire life (now 32) and have never been to the Statue of Liberty. I have seen it from the road/airplane but that's it.

I can see how it would be a totally different experiencing living in paradise vs. vacationing there. -Susan

I have to second the Victoria's Secret recommendation. They do have bikinis that are sold as separates. This way you can match the size to your own proportions. They are very true to size, except their bottoms tend to run on the larger size. I buy their suits all the time!

I ALWAYS get bitten whenever we go, but I don't know if the time of year has something to do with it (October). I tried taking the B-12 vitamins a couple weeks before we left last year and they didn't do ANYTHING for me.

Yes the New Horizons II does cover all that is previously mentioned, but keep in mind if it is full the seating does get somewhat tight. My husband and I did this day trip when we first stayed on St. John. It was great to see so much in one day, however they were filled completely (16 people total I...

We noticed that too last year. I guess October is becoming more popular to go to St. John even though it is still hurricane season. We wound up getting a few free nights at the Westin so we couldn't pass that up and the rest of our stay we decided to "splurge" at Caneel. Can't wait!

Maybe booking ahead isn't a bad idea

Just an FYI I just booked my return trip for this October last week. My travel agent looked up the rooms at Caneel (we usually stay on Scotts Beach) and she only had one room left on this beach for that time of year. She thought it was very surprising to have one room left so far in advance. It make...

I would recommend the Scubadu. We have been sailing with him for the past 3 years and it is always the high light of our trip. Check out www.sailvi.com. You definitely can't go wrong with Captain Joe!
