Glad to see everyone is doing okay in here. Was the boardwalk damage caused by the storm surge? We lost power Sunday at 11 a.m. and just got it back this morning at 9. Hardest part was no running water but we managed. Fortunately we have a generator so we were able to keep fridges/freezers cold and ...

Hi Loria. I understand your concern and even though the storm seems to be weakening, there is still cause for great concern for the storm surge. The surge is the extra water that is piled on the normal tide caused by the heavy winds pushing those waters. You are correct, the more shallow, the worse ...

I don't remember the first time I saw the ocean but I guess would liken the experience to first time I saw the Great Lakes. I could not imagine what people were talking about...psssh a lake like an ocean. Give me a break.

I was awestruck.

We allowed our kids. The rules were: We were "friends". We had their passwords. If they ever closed out a screen or minimized when we came into the room they lost privileges. Privacy controls were such that only friends could view their pages, phone numbers and addresses etc were not visib...

We've only ever been during President's Week and we never felt crowded or overwhelmed as we did in other vacation spots we had been to. I suggest if you plan on eating out, either make reservations or do so at off times as the restaurants get busy especially at night. Heading to the beach early will...

I know this is late but I always pick up pretty napkins when I see them and a plate or something that coordinates along with spreaders. I have used raffia in fall or seasonal ribbons and put the little package together and have them on hand for hostess gifts. I got the idea from an expensive gift sh...

Check out Tory Johnson online and FB. She is often on Good Morning America and has many suggestions for women to work from home. I have heard people having success with travel agent and customer service/sales rep for catalog and internet companies. Good luck.

OT: Bermuda Trip Report....I skipped STJ for this???

I <3 Bermuda as does my husband. Two years ago we were asked to plan a family reunion celebration for my inlaws 50th Wedding Anniversary. A trip was taken the prior year by family members to honor another golden anniversary and everyone felt my inlaws should do the same. The only caveat was  ...

So I'm hoping that this will be a much better experience. I'm looking maybe at staying somewhere near Rowe's Wharf-like the idea of the waterfront and the greenspaces near it. If you have any suggestions about Boston or the Rowe's wharf area (or any other areas!) feel free. I'm definitely going to ...

I agree if you haven't been to Boston in 10 years it is worth the trip. Much more green space and yes, very walkable. Chronicle did a great story on the gourmet food trucks that (finally- NYC, LA etc already had them) are around the city (one on the Rose Kennedy Greenway offers picnic blankets to pa...

A local news station is reporting that the STJ Police are saying the young woman was intoxicated.

The parents said the M.E. report showed there was no alcohol in her blood or organs which were donated.
