I like the caribbeanvilla.com website. They have a lot of rentals and their website is easy to navigate. You can sort by price and location.

Thanks for the response. Summerwind on Bordeaux Mountain was recommended by another TAer, and that is looking real good right now. I think we are going to wait until we finalize our plans in another month or so, and see what is still available. There are so many good choices!

Need2GetAway, that is so funny. I should have known the person who posted that video was a Forumite. You covered all of the important bases. Good to know the wifi works also. We like being able to upload and post photos in the evenings while we are resting up after a long day at the beach. Now we ju...

Thanks for the additional info. Someone just posted a Youtube video of Summerwind that shows the deck as well as a walk through of the living area and master bedroom. It looks perfect. I can already picture heading out to Hawksnest Beach for a morning of snorkeling and sunning and then coming back t...

Thanks so much lavender, that's exactly what I wanted to know. I do have a question about the pool and hot tub. Is the hot tub actually hot and were you able to enjoy the pool with all of the wind. Or is it too cold that time of year. We will be coming in late May.
Thanks

Wow. The patio at Coconuts looks amazing. I've wondered about the Gift Hill area. It looks like you have to go through Cruz Bay to get to the northshore beaches. Is that correct?

Summerwind questions

Well, I thought I had narrowed our villa choices down to Bayview and Aria, but thanks to Diana2, I am now intrigued by Summerwind on Bordeaux Mountain. The upgrade in amenities and outdoor shower look very appealing. The rental website shows excellent photos of the pool deck but not of the shaded de...

Thanks for the additional info on Bayview and for the other villa suggestions. I think I keep looking because what I really want is a $3000+ per week villa for under $2000! One of these years we are going to splurge on a villa with all the bells and whistles, but that will have to wait til our kids ...

Thanks for the other option. I'm not sure how I missed Viewtiful. Our primary consideration is privacy and ease of getting to the north shore beaches. It certainly looks to be a similar drive.

Thanks for the info. I think it probably is just luck of the draw whether mosquitoes are out or not. All depends on the rain. We're coming in late May, so who knows. Apito does look nice but is already booked for the dates we need. That is probably how we will end up deciding where to stay--which ev...

Aria or Bayview

My husband and I are planning a trip to St. John next May. We've been once before with our girls but this will be our first solo trip in 20 years. We like this Ajax Peak area due to its location near the north shore beaches as well as easy access to both sides of the island. I am wondering if anyone...

Just came back from a snorkeling vacation to Grand Cayman and was absolutely blown away by the snorkeling on the east end. If you check the Cayman Islands forums on Trip Advisor you can see photos and descriptions of the snorkeling on the east end and north side.

My family stayed in Satinwood Villa above Coral Bay in 2008. It has two equal king bed bedrooms on the main level and another efficiency type apartment on the lower level with a king bed. You access this last bedroom from the outside, so it may not be exactly what you are looking for, but we really ...

I wrote the review that sherban refers to about Satinwood. I tried to be as specific as possible, but if you have any questions in areas I didn't address, I'd be happy to elaborate.

Good for you Greyhoundmom, I'm glad it worked out. I'm paranoid enough about flying without having my family on two different planes!
