Since things are really slowing down on St John, I have time to scan the OT side of the forum. Always read about anything to do with food of course and I love this recipe. My reason for posting is for anyone that can not find that mustard, go to the Mustard Museum website. They have every mustard kn...

I would be happy to give you the recipe but then I will have to kill you. Then you would not be able to come back to St John and enjoy fritters in the proper setting. But seriously, I am always happy to share our recipes but we made a promise to the folks we bought Shipwreck from 17 years ago, along ...

Sorry if this info did not make it to St John Spice's list yet. I sent them an email but maybe it got lost in cyberspace. Anyway, Shipwreck will close at the end of business on Saturday 8/28 and we reopen on Monday 11/1. Thanks to all of the forumites that came to see us this year and introduce them...

Speaking on restaurant tipping, everyone should be aware that many restaurants include a gratuity automatically on parties of six or more.My staff are instructed to clearly indicate it on the check, verbally tell the party and offer to remove it if desired. My intention is to make you aware of this ...

We went to Key West last year on a day trip down from Islamorada. We were there the day before Halloween, which I understand they take as seriously as Coral Bay does and found a bunch of fun nuts. Felt like home! The best part was driving on a straight road for miles and miles with no switchbacks in...

Well we did as planned and escaped Cancun. Just too busy for my kind of vacation but the escape happened when we got on a ferry to Isla Mujeres. Love, love, love it. It reminded me of Coral Bay years ago. Picture toes in the sand lunches of the freshest fish, margaritas and mojitos, balmy breezes, l...

Thanks Loria. I have never looked at Lonely Planet before. Hope you did not just give me another daily vice! I will check it out. We are leaving on the 15th for just a week. We are gone but the staff will keep the place running while we are away. When are you arriving? I am really trying to put face...

Thanks everyone. I am starting to feel a little better about the trip so it will not be going out to the highest bidder after all. I am really just going to eat and drink margaritas anyway. Hope to see you all back in St John real soon.

Escaping Cancun

Having just read the thread on time shares, I thought I would get the ball rolling for suggestions on my May vacation. My husband and I were the perfect candidates to sell timeshare to about 30 years ago and to this day have no regrets about buying two of them. We have traveled all over the world wi...

Since I lived in Bermuda for 5 years and go back to visit friends, I may have a little different outlook than vacationers. I may also have a slanted view since I live in St John but still think of Bermuda as my second home. To me their slogan of "Bermuda is another world" is the truest mar...
