Mrs. Random and I have the same birthday - Oct 1. Since she's a bit younger does that make her a trophy bride? We have been "gifting" a trip to the islands since 1994 - St Maarten the first year, then Bas Terre on St Martin for a couple years, STT one year, and now we're hooked on STJ. Sep...

Great pics of Peace Hill and Dennis. Taking photos while scrambling down the first 75 yards is a bit dodgy, and trail shots are tough in the "jungle". We had our hands full with diving and beach gear when we hiked in the next day (Oct 31). The wind was howling and the sun was out. The swim...

Just checked Google maps because I've never seen Trunk from the west. Looks like there's a villa on the point where the photo was shot. It makes sense with the flowering shrubs and trees in the foreground.

Calendar

The December page of the 2007 Simonsen St John calendar has a beautiful pic of Trunk Bay. Snif... another 12 views of the island relegated to history. But wait! The 2008 calendar is at the house and soon will be slid into the backpack for the bike ride to work. And the only mark I ever make on...

We have rented from Brenda every October, going on 10 years. She said her boss is moving the business to the new building in town. Completion of the building will determine when they move. Make sure to check with your rental agent on STJ.

...directions for going "over the mountain" to Red Hook? We arrive during the STT Carnival parade, so the waterfront will be closed. Google Maps...."St Thomas, USVI". Look at the road map, then the satellie image. We stayed in Hull Bay on our first trip to the USVI. The rental j...

FF - see my post on your "need a villa" topic. We stayed at Mystic Ridge the first 6 years we visited the island. The location is perfect, with a short drive to Coral Bay, a 12 min drive to Cruz Bay, and Maho is 5 min down the road. The view is astonishing and the breeze cools the house (i...

Hey Jay, what's up with Cap'n Alvin. Is he still working, or has he and the missus re-retired? And after being shut down, does the starboard side engine still have problems starting up after an hour of run time?

Re: Day 4: Baby, you can drive my car

..Our fridge stocked up at the villa. Does anything seem out of balance here?????
Yes. Booze on the left, water and mixers on the right. Keep it simple. Oh, and where is the dark rum - that is soooo wrong!
