I'll hop on the Gibney train too. It would be my hands-down favorite if the snorkeling was a little better. But then again, if the snorkeling was better it might be a little more well known/popular. Perfect beach for floating in the water or falling asleep in the shade. Sigh... Ticker please move fa...

The car barge issues are making me nervous now. We're renting on STT for the first time this trip for convenience with a toddler, with Discount so we don't have to worry about service on STJ. Hoping nothing goes wrong.

In May 2007 my husband and I were married in a destination wedding in Punta Cana with 40 of our friends/family members. It was a non-stop party, lots of dancing and drinking and activities. A few weeks before the wedding I decided we should probably go somewhere afterwards, just the two of us. Some ...

They're going up every day. We just booked for May and had been keeping an eye on flights for a couple weeks. They just kept going up so we finally had to bite the bullet. It's ~$200 more than we spent 2 years ago for around the same time.

Vehicle rental and insurance

I'm looking into renting a Jeep from Discount Car Rental on STT. We have a 16-month-old and we wanted to have the car seat ready for us at the airport instead of dealing with taxis to the ferry. We also liked that Discount helps out if there are issues on STJ. The problem is our car insurance doesn'...

Our first full day is usually a villa gravity day. Traveling wipes us out. We take the day to recharge so we can be good and ready to relax the days away on one beautiful beach or another. Tough life.

I always wear them. I'd be nervous not to, like I wouldn't have as much control.

Wow, some really great tips! Thanks everyone.

BostonMike, on island the same week. Massholes takin' ova.

alw, your posts about bringing your in-laws are what convinced me to invite my mom. Now I feel confident we made the right decision.

Too early to start packing?

Fourth trip back for my husband and I, mid-May. This time we're bringing our 16-month old son (I know, I know) and my mother for a little help with the kiddo (See? It will all be okay). Changes this time: - Bringing along a newbie and a baby. Should be interesting. - Staying in Chocolate Hole (staye...

Wow, what an enlightening thread. As my husband and I consider a possible STJ trip in May or June, our first with our son who will be 16-months old, it's interesting to see what we're potentially in for! A different experience entirely with child, it seems. He will be going with us wherever/whenever...

I would suggest Perelandra: http://www.vrbo.com/18786 It's just a couple minute drive to Cruz Bay, but still VERY private (pool area is bathing suit optional!). Amazing views, great amenities, and super convenient location. We've stayed there twice. PM me if you have any specific questions or want m...

Vaca with toddler

Been a while since I've been on these boards. Great to see it's still as lively as ever. Husband and I have decided to take a family vacation some time in May or June. Our son will be around 16 months at that time. We are all over the place with ideas. We've tossed around Ireland, Yosemite/Tetons, H...
