Very sad if it's true. I might feel as strongly as JT does about it. My May trip would definitely include plenty of time there...I feel bad for those working there, too. IF it is closing, it does seem like odd timing, what with the blues fest and not low season yet. You'd think they'd make a few las...

OK, I feel stupid, but where is the Coral Bay Garden Center? I thought I had learned that area pretty well, but can't picture where this would be....I'd love to go there. Please help with directions. Thanks!

Any chance they'll be back in May?

I can't stop visualizing the whole image of the "chain smoking altar boys" classic. That, in Coral Bay, with a Reverend Raven, what more could one ask for?

Do both? The teens might like Cinnamon, water toys to rent, snack bar, wider beach, can be windy. Maho maybe more for non-teens, unless they like to snorkel. Don't completely miss out on Maho, that is just so special, pictures and words will never describe Maho! :)

That's good to know that non-stops might be a seasonal thing. I was thinking they were gone for good. There is hope yet...It would be great to meet up with some of you that might be there first week of May, I guess that would be May 4th at the Beach Bar?

BOS to STT: Non-stop flights are Gone!

Unless someone knows otherwise, it appears non-stop flights are gone! Too bad, that was a nice way to go and not feel any concern for a checked bag.
I'm officially booked for May though, and will write my Feb trip report soon -- one too many deadlines lately! :(

Number of Beaches

I was wondering, does anyone know the exact or semi-exact count of beaches on stj? I'll get to them all someday...

I've traveled to a number of islands, and found STJ to be very safe. But, I also believe it's all in how you conduct yourself, too. Someone that stumbles around drunk at 2am on dark, remote streets could be a target nearly anywhere on the planet. A little smarts and common sense will carry you anywh...

The EC gas station in Cruz Bay definitely takes credit cards, which I found helpful given the prices everywhere now. It's a small island, so one tank tends to carry a bit, depending on how much traveling around you do.
