Re: What do you know about Lavender Hill?

Have stayed there twice. They are very easy to deal with and were very understanding when we had to cancel, due to a family illness. Charlie, the onsite manager is a great guy. My Bride really likes being able to walk into town for dinner. The last bit of the walk is a bit steep, but not that big a ...

A second vote for LH. Very comfortable, easy walk to town, and nice people both while booking and on island. Stayed in 7E previously and booked for 4W this spring. IMHO a good value.

Differences between November and April?

Just booked our fourth trip to St. John. In the past we have always come down for the first two weeks in November, our Wedding Anniversary. This year my bride is having a milestone Birthday, and we are booked for the 4th through the 18th of April. I know that this is the tail end of High Season. What...

It would be interesting if you could sub group the islands under trees. VI VSVI BVI STT STJ STX Tortola Jost VG ETC. The the user could filter down or view all. Do not know how hard this would be, but it would seem to offer the best of both worlds. Phil

Stayed at Cliffside 4 yrs ago. Loved the location, pool ok but small, spa ok, no real issues other than the lack of AC. Kitchen was pretty basic, but fine. Wonderfull views. Lots of iguanas (sp?) but if you wanted them to leave all you had to do was jump around and make some noise and they would tak...

Margy: Thank you for the reply. Yes I posted a question about VM on another forum, and I will post a reply there with some more specific questions. Also, thank you for the link to the article. There are very few places that I have ever been that there was no crime. It sounds like your idea of a late...

Linne and Capt. Scott. Thank you both for your replys. The one issue we had with STJ was the feeling of being crowded. Even in mind Nov. (our last trip) we found it crowded in Cruz Bay, and somewhat difficult to get restraunt tables at our prefered times. I understand that STX is at a disadvantage i...

St John vs STX

My wife and I have made two trips to STJ and had wonderfull visits on both occasions. We have also made several trips to the Abaco Islands in the Bahamas. In general we prefered STJ for its beaches and dining. While we both snokel, it is generally not a priority. I would apreciate comments from trav...

While I have only been to STJ twice I have been to the Abacos may times and it is a totally different feel. The Abacos are quiet and the trip is all about the villa, most of which are on the beach, island hopping on a rental boat and quality time alone with the family. If you thought Elbow Cay was q...
