I booked our flights for May as soon as they were available. I took a gamble that the fares were just going to get higher as time goes by. Unfortunately now we have the long wait. Guess we will be doing alot of planning!!

Right now I am looking at a direct flight with Continental out of Newark. The fare is $438. That seems pretty reasonable to me under the circumstances. Not certain if I should pull the trigger yet or wait and see if a better offer comes along.

I missed delurking day, unfortunately. I am assuming it is not too late to delurk. We are headed back to St. John for our second trip in May (very far away!!). Based on all of the positive comments made by Vicki we are staying at Sunnyledge. I am just hoping that the airfares aren't going to kill us!!

Off-shore fishing charter

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good off-shore fishing charter either out of St John or St Thomas?

Privacy isn't really an issue. We have done our fair share of camping over the years. No privacy what-so-ever. Last St. John trip we stayed in a villa and loved the experience but my active son wants to stay closer to the beaches where he can meet other people and take better advantage of the water ...

Thanks flip-flop. Love the view!! Do you think we should be concerned about space with 2 adults and 2 grown kids?

Harmony Studios

Long time lurker, rare poster here. We are in the beginning stages of planning our second trip to St John. Went the villa route the first time now exploring a different (and less expensive) alternative. We are campers and don't mind a more rustic experience. We are considering Maho Camps, Harmony St...

We were in a similar travel situation last June. Meat was still frozen solid after 24 hours. I did add a few frozen water bottles as extra insurance. Even they stayed solid!

Our party of five consisted of 3 adults and 2 older teenage kids. We had plenty of room. I think it depends on what you consider crowded. If you talk to the captain (he does answer email questions) he will probably give you an idea of how many he considers comfortable.
