La Tapa

Just an FYI for La Tapa fans... So far, they've run an annual coupon (buy one, get one) in the Rotary Dining Club half-price dining book. I think the books cost something like $25. They're only good in the off-season (ending Dec 15). Lots of restaurants are included and you can usually make your $25...

Perfect!

Jan, I was reading your post and the replies and thinking that OPH was the best choice based on your outlined criteria. The heated pool will be great in case the water is chilly, which it might be without direct sun....but you wanted shade anyway, so you've got the best of both worlds for yourself. ...

STOP IT! Reading post after post of countown check-ins is like being repeatedly poked with the tip of a cocktail fork  Some of us have no dates...no plans....just unfinished trip report posting and a pile of "been away from the office too long" work. Have a little mercy and ta...

Rick, THAT is a great guide. I'll surely be linking to it. That must have taken a while to pull together. You are a brave man for pulling together a group of your size. Are the villas that you will be using spread out, or will you be staying close together? What a wonderful way for your group to cel...

Money doesn't buy class. I very personally know a multi-millionaire who drives a Lamborghini, toys around with his $100k speedboat and owns well over $1M in properties, amongst other assorted investments....early 40s. He has told me on more than one occasion that "you're expected to take the to...

You both have PMs. If you want ALL of the recipes, I can put them into a file and send via email - no problem.

Let us know which ones you try. Some are easy, others are complex. You can read the recipe and easily tell which is which.

Enjoy!!

Sorry!

FlaGuy - just saw this! Sorry for the delay in responding. Will gladly send you the recipes. I have them on my PC in Word files, along with an Excel file shopping list to go with the menu - divided into non-perishable items needed (take in suitcases) and perishables that needed to be purchased on is...

I prefer the quiet times - August and September - but only when my favorites restaurants are open and the menus are not those scaled back menus. I was really disappointed this past visit (Aug and early Sept) when I realized that Meson Amalia on STT was closed and Indigo changed their menu, removing ...

I always say that the measure of a company's true value is not by how they treat you when things are good, but by how they handle problems. I have not used Conrad Sutton. I have no opinion on him, but I know he is a popular agent who gets lots of business from recommendations on this forum. I, too, ...

Depends...

I selected the "Depends" (not the adult diapers!) option. If I go in hurricane season or with my parents, who have various health-related issues, I buy the insurance from Travelguard.com. Otherwise, I take my chances. The medical evacuation possibility is a very good reason to buy it! A gi...

USAir

Now that it has been mentioned here, that reminds me that USAir flight attendants do try to push the USAir card application on the USVI flights and tell you that you *could* be traveling for free (the coupon). They'll even ask you, if you say you already have the card, if this is your free flight. M...

Common....

As someone who spends lots of time visiting villas and working with owners and agents, I dare say that this is a common complaint. It is unfortunate. I believe more villa owners need to start to holding deposits. I'm always amazed at the stories I hear about guests who clearly abuse the villa, the p...
