Waterfront Bistro 06/05/2008
Reviewers Rating: Great
We used to eat here every trip when it was Panini Beach, no so much for the food, but for the view. We were not sure what to expect from Waterfront Bistro, but we ended up being pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. We stopped in for lunch, and were amazed at the transformation of this space. The tree still grows up out of the middle of the restaurant, but there is now a sleek bar, larger tables with comfortable seats, and tablecloths! It’s a sophisticated look for the space, and of course the wonderful view is unchanged.

John had a poached mahi dish which came with edamame, pinto beans, corn, grape tomatoes, etc., topped with microgreens. The fish was perfectly cooked, the vegetables were nicely done—not overcooked and mushy, but not too crunchy either. I had a toasted tomato sandwich with cheese fondue soup. The soup was perfectly creamy and rich, with a deep cheese flavor. That soup was soooo good. The portions were a perfect size for lunch—not huge…just enough.

I will say that the prices are kind of high, but the view is good, and, most importantly, so is the food! I’m looking forward to trying Waterfront Bistro for dinner next trip.
