This gets our pick for overall wonderful! And to think we almost didn’t get to go here. We ate here last year and liked it enough to want to go back the first night, so reservations were made for Fri, Feb 24. When we returned to where we were staying we had a message waiting for us that the chef didn’t show up and reservations were cancelled for the night…bummer! Luckily we ate elsewhere and vowed to cross 10 tables off our to-do list. We knew the chef was leaving for STX and this was just a bad omen. So…fast forward to the next Friday…where to go?...we decided to give them another chance, and are we glad we did! We were seated immediately upon arrival, were given our own carafe of tap water, which was refilled once we drained it, something only this restaurant did…a real bonus when you have been in the sun and are constantly dehydrated. We drink a lot of water and it is a factor to us on how we judge service. The servers probably work “together” and they were efficient, engaging, pleasant, and willing to chat about the move to STX. Apparently some of them are going w/ the chef and others are staying w/ new chef. I believe our meals were prepared by the “new chef” and from what we ate he’s got it down….from our tuna tartar to shrimp toast salad appetizers, to sea bass wrapped around crabmeat and sliced New York Sirloin, we would like to praise his culinary skills. This was a delightful experience. This is not a “fancy” place, but their food is top notch!
