I have read many reviews on Tage and was pretty excited to have a chance to eat there on our last trip. The first night we arrived, we were told that we could not get in that evening, they said they were booked (I did see a lot of empty tables, but none the less...). We went back a night or two later. This time they had to check and....yep, they can just fit us in tonight. It seemed as though they were trying to make the entry to the restaurant 'exclusive'. My wife and I ordered an appetizer and a couple drinks. After a little time, they took our order. The wait staff was great, they attended to the customer's wonderfully. The owner threw me off a little bit. He walked around with a glass of wine trying to be seen by everyone.

The food was good, but not what I have come to expect from restaurants on St. John. There was a lot of time and thought put on presentation, and (in my mind) not enough time put into taste. The prices were higher than I would have expected for the quality of food that was served. A normal evening out with my wife (at other restaurants) would cost between $70 and $85. I believe our bill ended up at around $110. If the food was 'beyond belief', I do not mind paying this. Our food was only average in my mind. I would personally not go back to Tage. But, since my review is one of the only negative one's, you may want to try it for yourself.
