I've only been once so I might not be the one to call BS on this (Puerto Rican) guy but I've never heard what he described from any of the locals I've met on St. John.
Should we leave it alone so nobody else comes to St. John or..
Comments are at the bottom of the article.

Looks like some other people are refuting his comments. No idea what he/she is talking about. I think there is some fibbing going on.

This guy sounds like a crack pot to me. It takes all kinds, doesn't it??? The good thing is he won't be back and that's just fine by me.

Wow! Our kids LOVED the island and can't wait to return! We were warmly welcomed and accommodated everywhere. Obviously there are certain situations that aren't the best for kids. Also, I know that Gallows doesn't (or didn't) allow children, but that is a courtesy to their adult guests that are there to relax in peace - completely understandable!
It is too bad that the commenter had to group all of the citizens of VI into one big category of rude people... we haven't met any.
Why can't we all just get along??

I clicked on the link and did not see any derogatory comments about the islands.
I saw links to find out info.
What did I miss?
Actually I have seen people windsurfing on Cinniamon Bay. I was told that you can rent there and someone use to give lessons.

Roe, I guess that windsurfing does happen but I've never seen it. I have Aruba as a point of reference and windsurfing is HUGE there.

Thank you, it was the comments not the writer of the article.
I have never had anyone be rude on island. UNless someone was not greeted at a business (like a bank) then they may be a bit curt.
There will never be a reason in my opinion for someone to not take a moment and greet the person they are speaking with, before they ask or talk about whatever.
Manners have gone by the wayside and that is one thing I love about the W. Indian culture. They do not accept that and should not, as we should not either.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion and experiences vary, but the island and people he describes are not anything that I've experienced in more than 6 trips to STT, STJ, or STX...
