This is Little Maho from Ethel's book.Sorry it's a bit blury.Ethel owned a 4 acres with beachfront that included a small section of Francis,Little Maho and the tiny beach between them Parafins

Here they are clearing the site to build "Island Fancy" Notice the beach to the left.Parafins

This is "Sandfly Villa"I'm not sure if Ethel named it or someone else.It was 100 ft. in from Francis Beach.Ethel rented it during the construction of her home.The villa was located over a pond that was a breeding ground for these pest.Parafins

This is "old John"He lived near Francis Beach.He had no idea of his age!Ethel guessed near 80 yrs.He helped Ethel from time to time.Parafins

Here's a pic of the "Island Fancy" site.Ethel named her 5 donkey's after drink names.I'm wondering if that is Whisling Cay to the left in the background?Paraifns

Ethel's donkey's unloading cement by her home.It seem's that cement was brought in at Trunk Bay,then carried in by donkey to Little Maho.No jeep's could make it past Trunk Bay.Parafins

This is the "Island Fancy" gate.It reminds me of the Oppenhiemer Gate!Parafins

The roof raising.This was a big event on St.John.A party and fireworks soon followed.Parafins

This is the last pic,and shows the roof raising party on the future gallery of "Island Fancy"Guavaberry rum,soda,and snacks were served.music was played as well.I hope you all enjoy the pics even though they are not top quality.All pics are from the book "Grandma Raised The Roof" by Ethel McCully {1954}Parafins
