We went and did a little shopping and stopped in and saw Ruth at St John Spice. We stocked up on hot sauce and some gifts. Ruth doesn't mess around. Our stuff got home before we did.

One of my favorite places to grab a breakfast sandwich in Wharfside Landing is no longer Paradise Cafe. There isn't a new sign yet, but it will soon be called The Surly Cantina. We got a couple of tacos. They weren't bad and relatively cheap.

We then decided to just hang out at Gallow's Point pool. The views from there really are fantastic. Later, DCphoto (Mel and Sandy) came by and we had some drinks, snacks and watched the sunset. We had a great time and love these guys.

We ended up getting take out from Rhumblines and just snacked on the Pu Pu platter. We tend to be boring with our food choices once we find something we like

Day 5

We went to Trunk Bay and hung our for a while. I know you folks think it is crowded, but it is truly beautiful. I don't think that palm tree is going to be with us much longer.

After Trunk, we headed to Shipwreck Landing for lunch. Our lunch was good but I really wished we would have gotten the fish and chips everyone raves about. Next time.

I was coming down with a cold, so didn't feel spectacular. We made a med run at Chelsea Drugs and headed back to GP for some R&R. We later tried to get a pizza delivered from Ronnie's but the car was "broken down". I ended up making breakfast for dinner.

Awwe that is too bad that you had a cold while on vacation. I live for vacations and would be crushed if I didn't feel my best. So, I feel for you.

That said--having a cold while at St. John is better than having a cold anywhere else. (:

I love Trunk too--even if it is busy--I agree with you.

I love the reviews. Keep them coming.

Boy, that palm tree at Trunk Bay sure is hanging low these days! I'm glad I got my favorite all-time picture of it when it was still barely leaning.

I've always wanted to try Rhumblines, but I hear the food is really spicy there - and with acid reflux I tend to avoid spicy these days. :(

Great report Brenda!

Yes, bummer about the palm tree. The reason I'm wondering if it will last is that the roots are really getting exposed. We were talking about it with Captain Brandi and he said he doesn't know if it can take another season of North Shore swells.

I stayed away from Rhumblines too because it had heard it was very spicy although I do like spicy food. Margo, there are some items on the Pu Pu Platter that you could probably eat. There are several choices in each category. With that particular plate, it's more about the dipping sauces being spicy. We shared it but I could make a meal of that easily and skip the entree. I actually did have an appetizer for my dinner. It was tempura lobster.

Thanks for the comments about the cold. I seem to have a habit of doing that on vacation and I don't let it get me down. The scratchy throat and coughing is what drove me nuts.
