Cptnkirk's Day 5
Posted: Sat Dec 13, 2008 8:21 am
I get up at the crack of dawn and surprisingly I feel pretty darn good for the amount of booze I consumed yesterday. Poor Teresa had to sleep on the wicker couch because I wouldn't wake up and go to the pool bedroom. Not sure why she didn't go down there with princess cause that couch had to be uncomfortable to sleep in. Well I make a huge pot of coffee to tune me up for today's adventure whatever it may be.
Same old view

Boy am I sure glad I made that extra coffee as the power went out about eight. Andy had not started breakfast yet so it was cereal this morning. I'm sure the old ticker appreciated this for a change. We could have had our regular breakfast as we have a gas stove but we didn't want to dirty a bunch of dishes since we couldn't washem. Dawn calls the villa agency at nine and they say it should be back on soon.
We load up the jeep and were down the road. I make an executive decision and say were headin east cause I need to get my fix of snorkeling in today and princess hasn't got to see any donkeys or goats/sheep yet. So we end up stopping at the beach were the end of the National Park sign is (I later learn this is Haulover South thanks to a forum member) First one there and we get the primo spot on this beach the spot that has a little sand in front, a little table and shade trees to boot. The early bird gets the worm as they say.

Andy and I head off thru the trees on the other side of the road as I thought this was Haulover and it was known for great snorkeling. The North/South thing always confused me now I understand. The snorkeling wasn't happening here, as the conditions were less than ideal I could have but no way was Andy going to. So I take a few pics and head back to Haulover South. We head left down the road and get to the far side of the beach and find a nice little entree spot. Right away we see lots of small fish amongst the rocks and rubble and the further out we went the better it was. We got to the end of the point and Andy was out far enough and wanted to head back. Looking at the map it appears the reef at Vies is around that corner I have heard good stuff on that snorkel so next time I'm checking it out.
Some snorklin Pics

Head back and chill with the girls and before ya know it the snorkel Gods are callin again. So I'm off to what amounts to an excellent snorkel on the right, really nice soft coral and a fair amount of fish. I highly recommend this snorkel; there is also a reef in the center that I was not very impressed by. Must have been out there for three hours as I was chilled when I got out and it takes a really long time for this to happen. I was happy as a clam that I got some really good snorkeling in today. Hey I'm sick of typing and I have too get ready for a big Xmas gathering on Teresa's side so I'll finish this later with a part two.
