ok ladies, i need some STJ shopping advice.....

I am not a shopper (my daughter thinks i would be a good candidate for what not to wear) .And usually when we arrive at the dock i make my way over to Coral bay and don't see cruz bay until we leave (well maybe we'd be there for lunch or a drink)--but....i need a dress or a skirt or something sort of nice and summery --(and there is nothing summery here and being NY all the clothes are black....) as my guy and i are getting married (again) in late december.
So, I would like to know what interesting clothing stores are in Cruz bay--otherwise it's cutoffs and a jolly dog t for me (and maybe that is the way it should be....) but I would like to at least look a little presentable for the second run......
thanks for any advice!

Depends on how fancy.
I think that Ruth may have some, check with her first,
I always like St John Editions which is next to Margarita Phils and you can check out Bouganvilla in Mongoose for higher end stuff.

I absolutely LOVE Bamboula in Mongoose Junction. They sell more funky elegant clothes than Bougainvilla, and the store has that exotic ambiance.
You didn't say what size you wore, and whether you wanted something conservative, elegant, or island casual.
Another good store is Sally's near Limetree Inn. She's kind of like a smaller Bougainvilla.
Congrats on your upcoming wedding, and I know you'll feel and look reall beautiful on your special day!

I vote for Sloop Jones...

Great fun and very original island wear! and you don't have to go into Cruz Bay...it's at the end of the road in Coral Bay!
Best wishes...Bonnie

I am giving another vote for The Fabric Mill. They have these lovely lightweight knit items that feel dreamy (I can only remember the name of one of the brands, Three Dot). A note of caution though....almost everything here is really expensive. St. John Editions and Cruz Bay Trading Company (Two Star Dog) also have some really nice items.

I love all of the above shops, too.
Congratulations on your upcoming marriage! If all else fails you might find just the thing in the Caneel gift shop. I think they usually keep a couple of pretty things on hand for this very reason. Good luck and I hope you let us know how it all goes.

but thank you all for the suggestions and the good wishes--it says alot about my guy that he'd marry ME again! (like maybe he's crazy...or something)

I second Ruth's shop. She had some really cute sun dresses in November. Many colors to choose from. Maybe she could set aside a couple in your size??

Caneel's gift shop does have some clothing that would be good for a beach renewal ceremony. I really like the Sloop Jones idea too.
Bouganavilla has designer labels, some really nice stuff, but honestly most of it is too fancy for me!

Loria,
I second the vote and would splurge and get something unique at Sloop Jones.... very fun stuff.
Where are you doing your renewal?
Did you get the pm I sent you about a month ago? I'm having trouble w/ the email filters here at work and wasn't sure whether it got through.
Meet you at the BB on the 28th?????

We are actually in the process of moving all of our women's clothing to the new store "St. John Spice Too" right next door to St. John Spice, where St. John Kids used to be. St. John Spice was pretty much at capacity, so it's been kind of fun. We are really expanding this area and we are in the process of adding a lot of items because we have a lot more room and our prices are great.
Congratulations on your renewal, I'm sure it will be fabulous.
