Meal pricing question

Hi everyone
I am so excited to be going to St John in 2 weeks
Silly question I know, but coming from England I am a bit unsure about pricing so I wondered if the meal pricing would be comparable with Miami prices as I know it will be more expensive than usual.
Thanks for any answers
Nikki

In most resturants I would say dinner entree prices are $20's to $30's. It's like Miami but the difference is there are fewer low cost options on St. John than in a big City like Miami or NYC. If you factor in the favorable exchange rate for you it may not seem so bad.
Have a great trip.
PS. St. John Ruth ( St. John Spice) has a resturant list on her site which contains many links with menus and pricing.

Welcome Nikki! I'll be on STJ about the same time. Where are you staying?
I think prices are a bit higher that US big cities...and remember that tip is not included on the check.
Safe travels!

I'm guessing that if you think London prices, you won't be surprised. And, yes, service is not included so add 15 to 20 percent to the meal cost.

Nikki--
Snorkel was right, think inner city London prices and you will be about on target.
Entrees for dinner at even an average restaurant on STJ are going to run you $20- $30 per entree. Appetizers are $8-$12 each. Dessert wil run you around $8-$10. About the only thing that's cheap is the booze.
For lower cost options you can head to: Skinny Legs, Shipwreck Landing, Vie's, Island Blues and Uncle Joes to name a few.
Generally I budget about $50 - $75 per person per day for food and alcohol.
We eat breakfast at the villa (usually) and eat out for lunch and dinner.
