A few questions

Arriving tomorrow in STT, planning on spending a few days on St John. In the past we have spent plenty of time at almost all of the north shore beaches. Waterlemon is our favorite. This trip we would like to get "all the way" out to Coral Bay - which we (gasp) have never done yet. We have heard many good things about the snorkeling in Salt Pond and saw some pictures from a place called Blue Cobblestone. I have the Feet, Fins and 4 wheel drive book but no mention of Blue Cobblestone. I know we can get to Salt Pond without any problems but where and how do you get to Blue Cobblestone? Any other can't miss snorkel spots? Thanks.

To get to Blue Cobblestone, head down to Salt Pond Bay. The trail is at the far side of the bay, and is marked with a National Park sign. To the left is Drunk Bay. The Ram Head trail is to the right. Basically, you walk about half the distance of the Ram Head trail to get to Blue Cobblestone. You can't miss it, it is a big stone beach.

It's a bit of a hike, not hard, but it takes about 20 minutes...you are not bringing your parents with you for this one, are you?

In addition to FF+4WD, Gerald Singer's book St John: Off the Beaten Track is a terrific guide for finding some of the more out of the way snorkeling spots. You should be able to pick up a copy at the National Park store or St. John Spice when you arrive.
