Tuesday, October 28th
After a long day of work and sitting through our daughter's Senior Sports Banquet (I cried of course), we were finally on our way to 8 straight kid-free days. Don't get me wrong, I like kids but 8 days without them is PARADISE!! We had an early flight so we decided to stay at the Marriott Philadelphia Airport. We arrived at the hotel, checked in, and went right to sleep dreaming of the sun, sand, and friends.

Wednesday, October 29th
We woke early and got ready for our flight. A cup of coffee later we were escaping though airport security and arrived at our gate. How do we start vacation you ask??? In a bar of course!! It is my birthday after all, so by 8am we had our first drink. My romantic Hubby toasted my special day. Aweeeeeeeee. He's such a keeper.

Our flight to PR left on time and was uneventful except for the fact that the movie stopped playing right in the middle. Does anyone know how the new Indiana Jones movie ended? Even though our flight from PR to STT was only delayed by 30 minutes, it seemed to be an eternity.

Upon arrival at STT, Bazile (our taxi driver) was waiting for us. Since we were carry-on only, we were off to Red Hook immediately. We went straight to the Natl' Park Dock and boarded Dohm's. Even though it costs more, we always take the water taxi over to STJ upon arrival. I starts our vacation in the "no worries" mode and makes life much easier. Just feeling the warmth and seeing the sun made life all that much better.

We arrived on STJ at 5:10 and Brenda at Denzil's was kind enough to wait for us. While filling out the paperwork, Ruth was walking back to the Spice Shop and spotted us. It's truly amazing how going on vacation can feel like going home. It's so great when you know everyone and they know you. It really makes us feel like we are apart of the island.

We met our villa greeter at the Dolphin Market and he took us to our new home away from home - Cruz View's #7. We really liked the layout of this place and it was perfect for us. We unpacked, did a little grocery shopping at Starfish, and headed to Woody's for dinner. I had the Shrimp & Pasta Salad and Mr. Bug had the Mahi Sandwich & Fries. YUMMY! Then we were off to the BB for a Bushwacker.

While at the BB, I spotted Boats and the Grannies. I sent them a note via the bartender and soon all the hugs came. I love seeing all my forum friends :) After a little catching up, they sang "Happy Birthday" to me and bid me fairwell. After hearing the music that the Grannie's provided, the bartenders started buying me drinks. Eventually Mr. Bug came to my rescue and did my shots. It was either that or he was going to have to carry me to the car

I did find out that evening that it was also Slimman's Birthday. He invited us to his big party that upcomming Saturday. I rejoiced in knowing that him and I share the same birthday. After all, Slimman is HOT. I tell my hubby all the time that if he ever leaves me, Slimman is my next husband. I've given Slimman fair warning as well. They both just laugh

By the time we arrived back at Cruz View's, we were ready for some sleep!

XOXO

I feel ya!

In my real life, I could never face a drink in the morning.

Put me in an airport at the start of a vacation, no problem! Nothing wrong with a 7 am beer! Must be something in the air.

Lovin' your trip report. I have to say that getting your jeep from a place that has no parking has one blessing -- getting to hang out with Slimman. He's a great guy, and you're right -- he's nice to look at!

I must warn you, I did always spend some time talking to his girlfriend and she's pretty feisty. You might want to stick with hubby!

The only reason I don't drink in the morning in real life is because my work frowns on it!
