Hello forum. First time posting here (I think) but we have been lurking around for awhile now and have enjoyed the trip reports and got lots of good info from you guys…so it’s about time we introduce ourselves, We are Rob n Cindi from Lake Conroe, Texas (just north of Houston) but orignally from Northern California. We're like a lot of other people here that started planning the next trip to STJ when they are wheels up from STT.

STJ does something to your soul unlike any other place we have ever been! It’s hard to believe that our last trip was in August ’04!!!

So now we’re in the middle stages of planning our 2nd trip to STJ. BTW, Photos of our 1st trip are here: http://www.pbase.com/robncindi/st_john_usvi_

We're planning to be there two+ weeks this time from May 24th(ish) until June 9th(ish) and we’ve already booked Miles Away villa for a week but were wondering if anyone had any opinions...good or bad about this villa?

I’ve searched the forum a little, but haven’t found any recent reviews. Last trip we stayed in the Fish Bay and really enjoyed the peacefulness of the south side of STJ.

The 2nd week we plan to stay a day or two on Tortola, Jost Van Dyke, maybe a night or two in San Juan, just sorta drift for a few days….any thoughts/suggestions on that?

I guess that’s about it for now…we look forward to getting to know everyone and sharing our next adventure with you guys!

Can’t help you on the villa – but I want to welcome you to the forum. Lots of good folks here and I’m sure someone can answer your questions. By the way – your pictures are great. A lot has changed on STJ since you were last there. It’ll be a whole new adventure.

PatR was just at Miles Away and will be posting a review soon - maybe after the holidays. So keep your eyes on the board for it!

Thanks FlaGeorge, We've heard there have been a lot of changes and the construction over by Fish Bay was in full force back in '04. I'm sure we'll still love it just as much..anything is better than here (work)

Welcome Robncindi!

As MB stated we just returned from the islands and spent a week in Miles Away. It is fantastic! We absolutely did not want to leave. (there is construction going on above the villa, but it looks to be almost completed, and the hammering and hollering usually stopped around 3:30 or 4 in the afternoons, and the noise never woke us up in the morning)

We also spent a week in Virgin Gorda, which we thouroughly enjoyed, but we were so happy to get to St John, it just feels more like "home" to us.

I definitely plan to post a review of the villa, but simply have not gotten around 'tuit' yet.
