surf and .....seals?

but seals????? has anyone ever seen a seal or a sea lion there?

There have been seals occasionally, never with as logical an explanation as this. The last one I remember was at Maho in '95 or so.
We DID have lots of native seals prior to the European invasion...the Caribbean Monk Seal was finally declared officially extinct this year, after not having been seen for 50 years. It was apparently common in Taino times, there were a number of bones found at Cinnamon, but they were already rare by the 18th century.
They were first cousins of the Hawaiian Monk Seals , which are still, barely , hanging on.
