With all the rain our island has had, I am wondering if I need to pack one of those bee keeper suits.

On the positive side, I bet it's lush and green.

Wasn't there spraying after Omar? If so, it's just *regular level*!

I found windy days really help. Blows them away.

Also -- you do know that alcohol in your system attracts them.

They have been VERY bad in certain areas (e.g. North shore beaches)but are improving today, should be "normal" by Monday ...

my neighbor who has lived on STJ for over thirty years swears if you drink scotch it keeps the skeeters away!

They are fogging for them on St. John this evening between 6pm-9pm, so we'll see if that helps. They are not as bad as they were in late Aug and early Sept. Once the tradewinds pickup again, we should be all good. I bring a long sleeve loose shirt and long loose pj bottoms to the beach just in case I they decide to come out in full force.

I would say that although it may be a scientific fact, when I drink rum they never bother me. Or maybe I just had too much to realize they were biting me.
