Loria,

I read in a different post string that if you ask, your airline should give you a voucher for the difference in you plane fare and the price that you just found....might be worth the 385.00 if you had already paid the 900. to ask for it.

i think that it is airline dependent and i am flying Spirit (down) and delta (back)--so i think i am SOL on that front. I really shouldn't complain--i get two weeks. my husband and kids are going on FF miles (on AA) so that's basically free--and he is taking ALL the luggage (and the kids...did i mention that--he is taking the kids!) and he is picking up the rental car and doing the shopping at cost u less (we'll see how that turns out...we'll probably live in doritos and beer with a few hotdogs thrown in.) and getting the car barge and getting everything sorted (they arrive at noon, i arrive at 4:30) so all i have to do is fly there-get to the ferry and meet them.
like i said, i should be thanking my lucky stars and not kvetching

Wow, Loria......that sounds exactly how my wife likes to plan our trips. Caveman do lugging suitcases...stocking frig....setting up dwelling....getting Jeep....(and use to be....taking care of smaller versions of Cave people), while she enjoys a couple days back at home in the solitude of a quit home and all the required pedicures, hair appointments etc necessary for a vacation. Meet me at the ferry around time for a happy hour drink or two.
