Sent our stuff on ahead. I used one of those big machines that weigh and print the postage for you...more importantly, it PRINTED the city/zip and used a bar code.

Thinking hurricane, slow mail, etc it went pretty early, just in case. I just check and found it got there in 3 days!!!

I hope I don't have to pay Connections rent for box space! ;)

Just to clarify by 'big machine' do you mean the post office?

I'm planning on mailing a box ahead for our next trip.

It's AT the post office, yes. There is a large, ATM like machine at my post office that will do stamps, letter, overnights, priority boxes, etc. I used that.

I think as long as you have the post office print the Saint John VI (that is exactly how it appeared) part directly on the label, with the barcode, then you have the quicker shipping. The thinking is that the package hits the computer scanner and is routed automatically, instead of the manual sort that you might get if you hand write it. My box went from Philadelphia, to Puerto Rico, to STJ...no manual sorts.

Also, I used Connections 9 digit zipcode.

Connections charges a very nominal fee for holding the box...usually $10ish depending on how large and how often they trip over it! WELL worth not shlepping your stuff...IMHO. Speaking of Connections...I'm on my way! WOW...shipping our stuff home!

Have a great trip!!! We used up all the rain and are leaving plenty of sun!!! Slight rum shortage...but you can thank Omar the Hurricaneless for that...
