Hi all...just got back yesterday

from a blissful week-long StJ stay.
I'll post a trip report soon with lots of photos, but for now, I wanted to share this video clip of us swimming with a friendly little Hawksbill turtle that we saw out near Trunk Cay on Thursday. The sweet little guy stayed with us for almost 10 minutes!

Enjoy....

Oh my god, what great footage! Excellent job with the camera - you even caught his little breath at the surface! I hope we find such a friendly native!

Thanks, savvy...although I can't take credit for the camera work on that clip; that was my husband (I'm the one in the video, in the green shirt!)
Nothintolose, the camera is a great little Fuji point-and-shoot, the F30 -- I bought the separate underwater case for it (pricey at $130 or so, but definitely worth it!) We shot low-resolution video clips, 320x240 resolution, although it does 640x480. The still photos are really nice quality too -- I just love it! (and I'm a photographer, so cameras are my thing)

Very cool!

Thanks for sharing. How big was the turtle?

He was about a foot and a half or so...a lot smaller than the bigger guys we saw at Francis all week!

Ejoyed the turtle immensely, but I enjoyed the footage of you all floating around in that blue, clear water even more!
I can make it until this summer. I can make it until this summer.

Very cool. We've talked about trying the video feature while snorkeling with our Canon camera. Now we'll definately give it a try.

WOW! I really enjoyed your video. I watched it twice! I thought that the girl in the picture was your daughter (that is a compliment)
I will be looking into one of those cases. I hope I can find one for my camera.

Thanks so much for sharing the video. I've been down in the dumps for a few days and that perked me up. You did a great job filming also. What a treat on a very cold Tuesday. Thanks again!
