I won a bottle of Cruzan coconut rum last night at a party. Does anyone know any drink recipes using this rum?
I thought about mixing it with creme do cacao for a "Mounds" taste.

Here's a recipe I've been meaning to share for a long time, but I misplaced it for a while! You'll be so glad I found it!
This is the recipe for the ORIGINAL Pina Colada "created by Monchito Marrero and served personally by him for 35 years at the Caribe Hilton" in San Juan, Puerto Rico:
2 oz. light Rum (this is where I use the Coconut Rum)
1 oz. Coconut Cream (Coco Lopez)
1 oz. Heavy Cream
6 oz. Pineapple Juice
1/2 cup Crushed Ice
Pour Rum, Coconut Cream, Cream & Pineapple Juice in Blender. Add ice. Blend for 15 seconds. Pour into a 12 oz. glass & garnish with Pineapple wedge & Maraschino Cherry.
(if that sounds like too much Coconut for you, then use 1 oz. Coconut Rum & 1 oz. regular Cruzan)
Can you say YUM? It is to die for!!!

Try this recipe, if you like the idea of mixing the coconut/chocolate tastes.
CHOCOLATIER
One and a half oz. coconut rum
One quarter cup chocolate ice cream
Half an oz. of dark creme de cacao
One and a half oz. milk
Semisweet chocolate shavings
Pour chocolate ice cream, rum, creme de cacao and milk into blender. Blend at high speed for ten seconds. Pour over ice into an 8 oz. glass and stir. Sprinkle the chocolate shavings on top. Enjoy!

Thanks everyone for the recipes. I wanted to try some of them, but got sick this weekend. I couldn't even go on the forum too much... now that's sick!
Waterguy, if you want to drive 3+ hours, you can come over for drinks sometime.

We should have a forum get together in Wisconsin in a central location. We have Sitter and Tracy form Wisocnisn and Waterguy and myself...anyone else? It would be fun!
172 days until STJ!

When we are feeling lazy we will make a quick and dirty Painkiller with the Coconut Rum. Not as tasty as when they are made with coconut cream (Coco Lopez), but a lot easier since you can use a shaker instead of a blender. We keep all the other ingredients the same, pineapple, OJ, nutmeg.
