I'm with you, CG. Hell, I'd rather hear about Jorge's colonoscopy at this point.

I'm with you guys. The TV is bombarding me enough with that stuff. I come here to relax and unwind, not get more stressed. Geez...

It’s unfortunate that lotsa posts have veered pretty far off the rails and that bait is put out there just so the responses can parsed and twisted to advance even more rants of fact based righteous indignation. I prefer replies of snarkiness and sarcasm myself!
But you are right CG - the rants and sarcasm aren’t likely to change anybody's mind. In fact, it may have the opposite effect of changing a borderline view AGAINST those who draw hard lines. It has even gotten tiresome to me and I’m guilty of fueling the flames on some of the topics that concern me.
And V, you are right too, but the only thing I want to hear from Jorge on THAT topic is how he liked the drugs they use for the procedure.
Thanks for reeling me in.

Tell me about it!!!!
It does sadden me a bit that all of that arguing is going on here though. I don't open them anymore and haven't in a while. In a way, just knowing it's still going on is depressing.

I'm with you too! I did just read the 15 page thread and I'm done.
I was in the Finger Lakes this past weekend with 7 girlfriends and I'll try to do an OT trip report this week.

I'm with you, CG! As I said before, talking politics on line is a waste of time. You are not going to change anyone's mind.
Bring on the trip reports!

I am sick of it too. Aren't there forums out there for just that topic?

Actually, it wasn't so bad until each thread kept spawning a new one. I know I don't have to read them (and I haven't been for a few days), but to click over to the OT forum and see the first 5 or 6 threads all on the same subject is just a little too much for me. I say bring back the food porn, the cocktails, the OT trip reports and pictures of pets!

I must admit that I am trying to ignore them and hoping they just go away...

And it is true - there are plenty of sites/blogs/forums to discuss this stuff - I think we are better when even the "off topic" forum is somewhat on topic! (i.e. eating, drinking, etc.)
