When I fried my camera last fall going through the Baths, I decided to just replace it. I didn't buy an underwater housing. My plan was to eventually buy a less expensive underwater camera in addition. I've started looking around. I found one on Amazon---a Pentax Optio W10 for $123. Price seems quite good. Anybody have any experience with this camera?

I don't know anything about it but I think that's one of the cameras that Anthony advertises and if you buy it through his link it helps out the forum.

In looking at it though I don't see it saying anything about underwater. I must be overlooking it some where.

Lex - we had the Pentax Optio W10 for over 2 years and liked it very much. It took great pictures and even underwater without housing, down to 10 ft.

I have a lot of pictures taken with it on my photosite (link below). All pix except from April 2008 are taken with that camera. From then, we have a Canon Powershot A720IS with uw housing.

Unfortunately the Pentax Optio W10 decided to die during our visit in Virign Gorda, but my husband is so fond of it, so he is going to buy a new one.

Since I dive, I need a camerat that can take pictures deeper, but for snorkeling it's perfect.

The reviews are mostly good and the price is right. I think they are trying to sell old stock since the W60 is the latest model.
