Dux:

SOTB (a group of 6 forum gals) stayed there last year. Let me know what specific questions you have and I will be glad to answer.

Thanks Bug!

Sea Forever or Latitude? I think I saw that you were at Sea Forever . . . What was the state of the construction out there? When we were at Vistaero last Feb, it seemed like there was a lot of construction? Also, did the pool area have a clear view or was it semi-obstucted by the trees/plantings? The other concern is the kids - is it a kid-friendly set up?

Hi Dux:

We stayed at Sea Forever. Overall we really did like the place. Here are a few Pros/Cons:

Pros: Very large Kitchen/Living room area. Tons of kitchen ammenities. Comfortable furniture. Great views. Upper deck for relaxing, lower deck w/pool (both with excellent views).

Cons: Screened sliders to deck were very hard to open. Lower rooms had a "musty" smell. Drive way was steep and parking was difficult w/ 2 cars. Deck (both upper & lower) was very slippery when wet.

As to your specific questions:

There was no construction next to or around this villa. You can see the Chocolate Hole (I think its called Pond Bay)construction but your so high up it really is not an issue.

The views were great from both decks and un-obstructed.

As for kid friendly I think it really depens on the age of your kids. I would use this villa with older kids but not young ones. None of the bedroom have an enterance from the great room so each is like it's own pod. 1st floor bedrooms - one bedroom opens to the driveway only and the other opens to either the drive way or the deck. 2nd floor bedrooms - both open with sliders directly to the pool deck. I would not feel comfortable putting my 6 year old in any of these beds without me.

The villa is great for a group of adults because of the privacy it affords each but doesn't work to well with children in my opinion.

If any of the other SOTB girls would like to chime in on anything I forgot, please do!!

I hope this helps

I may be totally wrong about this, but I thought there was not really a view from the pool. Maybe because it was late afternoon when we got in the pool and my memory was fuzzy. :?

Oh hell, maybe I was drunk?....No you were drunk, I was stoned

Anyway, I thought the view was the same from the upper and lower deck but I may be wrong. Maybe another SOTB should chime in and give Dux his answer - heheh.

I love ya Roomie and miss you sooooooo much

Hi Rick:

Cypress booked everything for us and I believe it was through Catered To. You might want to check with her cuz I think I might have been a little fuzzy on my SOTB details

Yes, it was through Catered To.

I was pretty wasted, but I feel sure the views from the upper and lower deck were not the same.

I will add that the ac in the master did not work very well. The other bedrooms were fine.

I miss you too, Bug!!!!!!!!

Thanks Ladies (and Rick)!

I think that based on the room entrance situation that Latitude may be the better choice on this one. There are only 2 adults - and 4 kids the youngest of which is 7. Anyone out there have a Latitude experience?

Did you look at Ambiance? I haven't seen it in person, but when looking for villas with interior access bedrooms, found out that it has one master in the main house, with a loft with 4 twin beds in it. I think there are a couple of other masters in another pod. Just a thought if you're interested in putting all the kids together in the loft.

Also, Amani's floorplan looks like it has two bedrooms that open to the great room, and a loft with twin beds upstairs, again putting everyone together under one roof.

The upper deck definitely had a better view. The lower deck view was blocked some by the trees, but it was still good. I agree with everything that Bug said. I'd stay there again. The pool was large and awesome especially for skinny dipping.

I think Bug pretty much nailed Sea Forever. I kinda remember trying to take pictures from the decks and there being a lot of trees in the way...hmm, maybe it was me. My bedroom was upstairs on the same level as the kitchen/LR, but you had to go outside and and then into the main door to get there. Two jeeps were kinda difficult, and if you have company....well, just ask Rick and Christine!!

We walked by Latitude but did not stay there. It is in the center of Rendezvous Bay but not that high up. I doubt if you would able to see anything over the hills on either the left or right so if you are looking for views down the coast I dont think you will get that there. The property is well groomed and the landscaping is wonderful.
