I have a mancrush on Alton Brown - so sue me.
It seems his new show, Feasting On Waves, is about the food and culture of the islands, mon. And Alton has left a "buried treasure" for anyone who can find it.
The EXACT co-ordinates are, 18,26,214 north by 64,42,519 west. That puts it in Little Jost Van Dyke. The treasure is a spoon with Alton's face on it. It is under a rock at those co-ordinates.
Please go find it, and take a picture of you with it. Send the picture to Alton!

Notahippie, very good to see you here. I think you'll find a more helpful, more St. John loving bunch over here.

notahippie, don't you have a trip coming up soon? Give it up - dates, villa?
Good to see you on VIOL, where we can actually have a conversation!

I watched that show last night and really liked it. It was better than I expected. I believe there are going to be four installments. Last night they started out on St Kitts and then sailed to St Barts. They were supposed to go to Eustatia, but the weather was not cooperating. Definitely worth checking out if you have a love for the islands in general like I do. I can't wait to see where they sail next.
Soon come!

Welcome to the forum. I saw that show last night & it was very good. We had been to St. Kitts in 07 & loved our time there, even though it was just a day. We rented a jeep, got a map & off we went to explore the island as best we could in the fast time there. It's really beautiful & was good to see some of the same things we saw on the show. Looking forward to more of these shows.
Again, welcome to the forum!

The food looks good as does the the islands!
He isn't a chef and I don't think he has any formal training at all. I read one of his books and he is very upfront about being a geeky guy that just likes to cook and eat.
