USVI-On-Line

We woke up to clouds and showers on Monday (pre-Gustav) which never really cleared up, so we decided today was a good villa gravity day. The boys played their computer soccer game and chess, we played a few games of Scrabble and generally just relaxed and enjoyed doing next to nothing. I didn't take many photos, but I did take some of our dinner table with a chessboard in the middle. We had steak on the grill, more Josephine's salad, and jerk-spiced rice.

Day 5 dawned beautifully, and we decided to go to Hawksnest, the first place that D learned to snorkel.







The snorkeling was really good, and we got some great photos with our new camera:

We had stopped at Deli Grotto and got a few Pink Cadillacs for lunch, so we set up at a picnic table and ate, while swatting at the skeeters the whole time. They weren't a problem on the beach, but they were bad back near the bushes. Sat by the water for a while longer while the boys swam, then headed home again.

Dinner tonight was grilled jerk chicken breasts, more salad, and couscous.

You have a GREAT underwater camera. I love those shots. It almost makes me want to try snorkeling.

What kind of camera do you have? Did I miss that? Those shots are beautiful!

Cat, we used several cameras, one mostly for underwater (Canon Powershot G9 with underwater housing, which was brand new), one mostly for land shots (FujiFilm A600, I think?), and my husband's which I can't remember now! We're kind of gadget freaks....

I have the powreshot SD600 with the underwater housing! I love Cannon! I have been thinking about the Olympus that you don't need a housing for! Nothingtoloose's SO got one for their last trip and he loved it! I do like that the underwater housing makes it wsy to use the buttons bieng that they are bigger than on just the camera. I just would love to not have to carry one more thing!
